As a collaborative member of the group, you will support strategic trade initiatives to help scale our complex, high-technology supply chain, working closely with teammates in Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, Engineering, and external customs brokers.

This role combines hands-on execution, classification, origin, trade lane design, broker oversight, and business engagement. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently within a team, supporting senior leaders, and helping establish standards that keep pace with AMD's rapidly evolving business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

U.S. Import Compliance & Operations
  • Contribute as a subject matter expert on U.S. import matters, supporting oversight of tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin, admissibility, and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements for advanced semiconductor and high-tech products.
  • Support governance of U.S. customs broker relationships, including Power of Attorney management, SOP standardization, performance monitoring, and escalation management.
  • Help ensure accurate and timely customs filings, post-entry activities, reconciliations, and responses to CBP inquiries.

Risk Management & Regulatory Engagement
  • Monitor and evaluate regulatory developments (e.g., Sections 301/232, USMCA, trade remedies) and provide business guidance in coordination with the team.
  • Participate in internal compliance assessments, root-cause analysis, and development of corrective action plans where needed.

Duty Optimization & Strategic Programs
  • Support U.S. duty mitigation strategies, including duty drawback, tariff engineering, and special trade programs.
  • Work with Finance and Tax partners to help quantify duty savings, risks, and opportunities.

Systems, Data & Process Excellence
  • Leverage ACE data, dashboards, and KPIs as part of the team to monitor compliance health, broker performance, and cost drivers.
  • Support ongoing trade systems and ERP initiatives (e.g., SAP GTS, S/4HANA, Descartes) to improve automation, controls, and data quality.
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of scalable import compliance SOPs and control frameworks to support AMD's growth.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, and IT to integrate import compliance into sourcing, product design, and operational processes.
  • Provide clear, practical guidance to business teams, translating complex customs rules into actionable steps.
  • Help deliver targeted training and awareness to internal stakeholders and broker partners.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Strong, progressive experience in U.S. import compliance within a multinational, high-technology, manufacturing, or similarly complex environment.
  • Deep expertise in U.S. customs regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, Incoterms, and trade remedies.
  • Proven experience managing customs brokers and third-party trade service providers.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor, electronics, or advanced manufacturing supply chains.
  • Demonstrated success operating as a senior individual contributor with enterprise-wide influence.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to navigate regulatory nuance and ambiguity.
  • Experience contributing to trade system implementations or major process transformations.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in international business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Law, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • This role may require interaction with export-controlled technologies and compliance with applicable U.S. regulations.
