Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly strategic sourcing leader who can translate enterprise and business priorities into short- and long-term category strategies that improve profitability, resilience, and growth. This role requires strong P&L acumen and the ability to connect what customers and markets value with what the supply base can competitively deliver. This sourcing leader will drive shaping sourcing decisions that influence how Woodward designs, makes, and sells its products. The successful candidate will bring deep category leadership and operational credibility, along with experience supporting M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, or other business transformations. They will build and execute practical sourcing playbooks, develop high-performing teams and supplier partnerships, and collaborate across commercial, operations, manufacturing, engineering, and finance to create value beyond traditional procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Supply Chain Planning: Develop and execute supply chain and sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives.
- Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure collaboration and performance focused on quality, reliability, and timely delivery of materials and services.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with members and leaders at all levels across multiple functions such as finance, manufacturing, and engineering to ensure seamless supply chain integration and alignment.
- Risk Management and Problem Resolution: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while resolving complex or high-impact issues to maintain operational continuity. Establish short and long-term countermeasures utilizing lean problem-solving tools and methodologies.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage members and leaders, fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth.
