Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Manager plays a lead role in our Annual Budget, Monthly Reporting and Forecasting activities, monitoring progress and changes, and keeping senior leadership and Board of Directors abreast of the organization's financial status. The candidate will be leading a team of 3 to 4 FP&A Analysts, providing ongoing coaching and guidance.
Key deliverables include building, scaling, and simplifying financial reporting and analytical processes to deliver actionable business insights to the Executive team through dashboard reporting and other executive management reporting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Play a lead role in the annual budgeting, planning, and forecasting process, reviewing all financial plans and ensuring alignment with corporate goals;
- Provide insightful financial advice and analysis to the Senior Leadership team, translating financial results into operational recommendations to improve and accelerate the business;
- Provide coaching, support, and mentorship to direct reports to elevate the teams skills and performance;
- Produce clear, concise presentations for quarterly and annual budget board meetings;
- Review and recommend KPI metrics to incorporate into Business Units and Corporate Dashboards;
- Lead financial due diligence, predictive valuation modeling, and integration planning for M&A, brand partnerships, and corporate expansions;
- Convert qualitative strategic initiatives into concrete financial models with clear ROI, revenue trajectories, and cost implications;
- Perform risk evaluations of business plans by running sensitivity analyses on macroeconomic factors, pricing strategies, and supply chain disruptions;
- Drive the implementation of new financial planning systems and software solutions, spearheading the integration of
- Generative AI (e.g., Claude, Copilot) and Machine Learning to improve data integrity and predictive forecasting accuracy;
- Champion continuous improvement by developing automated processes to analyze revenues and costs across customer and product dimensions, utilizing AI to streamline month-end reporting and variance narratives;
- Support and deliver ad hoc value-add projects and business cases that arise on a routine basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree is required, CPA, MBA and/or CFA is advantageous;
- 7-10 years of experience working in accounting/finance positions, with financial analysis experience at a manager or above level for at least 5 years;
- Retail industry experience is a plus;
- Hands-on experience with, or a strong willingness to learn, AI-enhanced corporate performance management tools and generative AI assistants (e.g., Claude, Copilot);
- Experience with system implementations is a plus;
- Demonstrated outstanding financial leadership skills and expertise with an emphasis on translating financial insights into operational recommendations;
- 5+ years (preferred) in forecasting, financial analytics, budgeting, financial modeling;
- M&A experience is a plus;
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required for daily communication with suppliers, employees, and stakeholders, both within and outside of Quebec.
