As a Senior Manager, Civil Engineering, you'll play an important role overseeing project performance technical project delivery and assurance, people development and growth. Working closely with the Director, Project Managers and senior leadership, the Senior Manager helps translate department strategy into day-to-day execution while ensuring projects are delivered effectively, teams are supported and developed, and clients continue to receive the high level of service expected from LRL.
In your new role with LRL, you will also be accountable to:
- Providing technical leadership and oversight appropriate to the individual's area of expertise and professional designation.
- Ensuring department deliverables comply with applicable municipal design guidelines, provincial requirements, professional standards and LRL's QA/QC policies.
- Performing or overseeing technical reviews of engineering designs, analyses, drawings and other deliverables as required.
- Actively contributing to project delivery to support the department.
- Supporting consistent application of QA/QC processes and ensure appropriate technical review is incorporated into project delivery.
- Reviewing, approving and improving department templates, checklists and workflows to strengthen quality, consistency and efficiency.
- Promoting lessons learned, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the department.
What We're Looking For
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed, or eligible for licensing, in Ontario.
- Significant progressive experience in civil engineering consulting, ideally within land development and/or municipal infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary projects, teams and client relationships.
- Strong understanding of consulting engineering project economics, including budgeting, forecasting, utilization and project profitability.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop technical professionals and emerging leaders.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to balance technical excellence, client service, people leadership and business objectives in a growing consulting environment.
- Experience with proposal development, business development and client relationship management is considered an asset.
