About the role

The Senior Manager, Resin Procurement is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for assigned resin categories, ensuring a reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable supply base. This role partners closely with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to drive commercial value, manage risk, support business objectives, and lead strategic procurement initiatives across the organization.

Key Job Accountabilities
  • Manage and design overall Supplier relationship, strategy, and business needs within assigned Commodity categories.
  • Meet, review, & discuss with Suppliers all available technology, operations, opportunities, and supply chain challenges.
  • Contract management and compliance, ensuring specific terms and requirements are present and met that support each commodity's strategic and financial goals.
  • Travel to supplier and Amcor sites, applicable trade or industry events, and other locations as required.
  • Acquire and maintain an in-depth knowledge base of foreign and domestic market forces, trends in cost and technology, and R&D platforms within assigned portfolio of commodities.
  • Qualify suppliers, create risk assessments and make ongoing recommendations regarding suppliers, our supply base, their reliability, competitive pressures, capabilities, financial health, and market strengths/weaknesses.
  • Present and complete periodic comprehensive sourcing reviews of assigned commodity portfolio using cost models to validate strategic metrics and results.
  • Be the liaison between suppliers, international sourcing, divisional manufacturing facilities, sales, R&D, and the Purchasing department.
  • Act as project manager (develop, manage, and implement) for cross-functional teams ensuring cohesiveness and maximum utilization of resources to meet project objectives and timelines.
  • Work with Division Managers to implement a successful inventory strategy that meets inventory and working capital metrics.
  • Participate in the training and development of Purchasing staff and other groups as required.
  • Other Responsibilities as assigned by Director of Resin Procurement


Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably a technical degree, and 10yrs experience in Purchasing and/or related industry experience required.
  • High financial aptitude and preferably experience centered around financial analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of resin manufacturing and grade selection preferred.
  • Experience with Commodity/Category management; understanding of manufacturing and design, design software, materials composition, testing methods, and industry costing methods.
  • Proven history of executing cost savings initiatives and strong project management experience.
  • Ability to analyze data quickly, accurately, and make sound recommendations.
  • Advanced project management skills; specifically project identification, validation, implementation, and execution.
  • Experience with international business and sourcing preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate with a high level of success.
  • Displays results-oriented leadership style with strong influential skills.
  • Ability to lead employees.
  • Possess the skills required to make presentations to all levels of Management.
  • High skill level with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, and the ability to learn others as required.


Compensation
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $129 200 to $161 500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $129 200 to $193 800 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is applicable to positions performed in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements, including CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA, Washington DC, as well as remote roles that may be performed in these locations. Compensation for roles performed outside of these jurisdictions may vary. The Company reserves the right to modify this range at any time.
