Sr. Litigation Assistant
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $105 - $115k
Hybrid Schedule Available

A prestigious Am Law firm is seeking a highly organized and proactive Litigation Assistant to support attorneys within its Litigation Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional to join a collaborative, high-performing team and provide critical litigation support in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Federal and California State court procedures, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation.
  • Prepare, revise, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials, correspondence, and trial documents.
  • File documents electronically in Federal and California State courts, ensuring compliance with court rules, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Monitor court dockets and maintain litigation calendars, including hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial dates.
  • Coordinate service of process, court filings, document deliveries, and legal vendors.
  • Assist with discovery by organizing document productions, preparing exhibits, maintaining indexes, and coordinating responses.
  • Prepare deposition and trial materials, including exhibit binders, witness files, hearing notebooks, and trial notebooks.
  • Schedule depositions, client meetings, expert meetings, mediations, and other litigation-related events.
  • Maintain electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, vendors, and outside service providers.
  • Review court notices and correspondence to ensure deadlines are properly tracked and addressed.
  • Assist with attorney time entries, expense reports, reimbursements, and billing requests.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of litigation assistant or legal secretary experience supporting litigation attorneys in a law firm environment.
  • Experience with Federal and California State court filings, including CM/ECF and California e-filing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, and local court rules.
  • Experience preparing and filing pleadings, motions, discovery, trial documents, and related litigation materials.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with document management systems such as iManage or similar platforms preferred.
  • Strong proofreading, grammar, formatting, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal teams.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
