Role Overview

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will drive day-to-day legal work for Richemont's Americas region, delivering exceptional service to internal clients in a high-volume, high-impact environment. You will be a part of Richemont's Group Legal Team, an integral part of Richemont Corporate Affairs, and will join more than 100 legal professionals worldwide, united by professional and ethical excellence. In this role, you will handle a broad portfolio of commercial transactions spanning the full range of business functions, including commercial and vendor agreements. You will also mentor junior team members and support their professional growth. This role demands a dynamic lawyer who can manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly in a fluid environment, and exercise sound legal and business judgment. Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial and vendor agreements across all business functions, including marketing, advertising, and events; software, technology and digital; facilities and logistics; security; sustainability and ESG initiatives; and retail and e-commerce
  • Stay current on emerging legal and regulatory developments, including AI, emerging technologies, ESG, and digital commerce, and provide strategic guidance to the business on related contractual risks
  • Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and data privacy teams on technology contract reviews, data security assessments, and privacy impact evaluations
  • Partner proactively with internal clients and cross-functional business teams to identify and mitigate complex risks, delivering timely, concise, and commercially focused strategic legal advice
  • Provide strategic support on litigation and regulatory matters related to complex contract and commercial disputes
  • Develop and maintain legal tools and resources including templates, playbooks, negotiation guidelines, and training materials and lead training sessions for business teams
  • Embody Richemont's Group values, championing the value-driven ways of working that define our culture
  • Contribute to and actively leverage Group Legal's knowledge management platform and legal technology solutions
  • Strategically interface with and manage outside counsel


Qualifications
  • J.D. required from a leading law school
  • Must be a member of at least one state bar in good standing (NY strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years of commercial transactional experience, preferably gained through a combination of law firm and in-house roles in fast-paced multi-jurisdictional environments across the America
  • Proven expertise in complex commercial contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and strategic counseling across diverse business functions
  • Experience in retail or consumer products industries preferred
  • Experience with e-commerce, digital platforms, data privacy, and/or technology transactions preferred
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think like a businessperson, integrate legal and business solutions, and partner effectively with senior business leaders
  • Collaborative nature with strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence (EQ) with proven ability to build trust and navigate complex stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a complex matrixed environment while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and professional maturity to operate autonomously on complex matters while knowing when to escalate
  • Experience in AI use and prompting with a strong interest in new AI use cases and related technologies
  • Good command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and shared work and project management environments
  • The role is based in our New York City corporate offices
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese a plus
