Full Job Description
WW Operations Finance is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join the Carbon Planning & Analysis team, supporting North America region (NA). CP&A is the Finance Single Threaded Leader for carbon intensity (CI) data integrity, reporting, and planning across WW Ops' ~45MM tCO2 annual footprint, directly supporting the WW Ops S-team carbon intensity goal and Amazon's Climate Pledge commitment of net zero by 2040. This role will maintain and improve the data structures underpinning NA carbon reporting and planning, partner cross-functionally and cross-country with regional sustainability and BI teams, and deep-dive data quality challenges as they arise. The role sits at the intersection of Sustainability, Finance, and Operations - a rare combination that gives the analyst exposure to carbon science, financial planning rigor, and operational decarbonization levers all in one seat, and offers a strong foundation for building differentiated expertise in their career. The analyst will operate with growing autonomy over time as regional carbon data fluency builds.

Key job responsibilities

- Support NA carbon month-end close (MEC), ensuring carbon ledger (GCD) aligned data quality and timely resolution of carbonation and data quality issues.

- Maintain and continuously improve carbon reporting and planning data structures within data cluster and Carbon Reporting Deck.

- Partner cross-functionally with regional sustainability, BI, and BU Finance teams to consolidate data requests, validate submissions, and resolve discrepancies.

- Support carbon planning cycles (OP1/3YF, OP2, Glidepath), ensuring carbon drivers (LMPP, 3P cost, WHT LoH, fleet electrification) are captured accurately and tie to the broader financial plan.

- Deep-dive data quality and reporting challenges, identify root causes, and propose process or automation improvements.

- Contribute to CP&A's transition toward an AI-native reporting and planning model - supporting GenAI-powered variance commentary, automated data quality checks, and other tools that reduce manual reconciliation work.

- Assist in preparing variance commentary and metrics tables for leadership reporting (Kingpin, WWS reviews), under the guidance of a senior team member.

- Escalate data quality, timeline, or stakeholder risks promptly, partnering with the senior team member on resolution.

- Build subject-matter expertise in carbon data systems and regional carbon drivers to grow scope over time.

A day in the life

Your day starts with a check of data submission status and the latest carbon ledger (GCD) snapshot, flagging any late, missing, or anomalous data before it becomes a downstream reporting issue. For this you will use AI tool you have built. You'll join a call with an NA sustainability or BI counterpart to align on a carbon driver discrepancy or walk through a data request - always leading with data lineage and methodology clarity, since regional teams often hold their own numbers. Back at your desk, you update Carbon Reporting Deck tabs for your regions, validate CI calculations, and dig into any variances that don't tie to plan. You sync with your senior team member to review findings, prioritize open items, and decide what needs escalation versus what you can resolve independently. Depending on the point in the month, your afternoon might involve supporting a planning cycle deliverable (OP1/3YF, OP2, Glidepath), pulling together inputs for a leadership review, or scoping a process improvement to reduce manual reconciliation work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

- 3+ years of finance, tax or a related analytical field experience

- 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience

- 3+ years of dissecting financial data, identifying patterns that support business strategy experience, and forecasting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience developing financial models in Excel with advanced functions (pivot tables, macros, VBA, Power Query)

- Experience with data analytics platforms (Power BI, Python, SQL, Tableau)
