Alamo Group Inc. is accepting applications to fill a Sr. Financial Accountant position at its Corporate Headquarters in New Braunfels, TX.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Financial Accounting team. The Sr. Financial Accountant will play a critical role in managing and maintaining fixed assets and leases, improving our financial processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

The Sr. Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

Fixed Asset Management: (1) Responsible for managing and maintaining the company's fixed asset records, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals and reconciliation of assets in accordance with accounting policies and GAAP, (2) Supports month-end and year-end close activities, prepares related reports, assists with audits, and works with cross-functional teams to track capital expenditures and ensure the accuracy and completeness of fixed asset accounting.

Lease Management: (1) Responsible for administering and accounting for the company's lease portfolio in compliance with applicable accounting standards (ASC-842). (2) Ensures accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of lease-related transactions.

Financial Reporting: (1) Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies, (2) Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the company and its subsidiaries, (3) Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement, (4) Performs conversion of multiple foreign subsidiaries financials to U.S. Dollars.

General Ledger Management: (1) Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness, (2) Prepares complex reconciliations of various general ledger accounts for multiple facilities in multiple currencies, (3) Prepare, review, and enter monthly and quarterly journal entries for financial close.

Audit and Compliance: (1) Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries, (2) Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, (3) Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.

Process Improvement: (1) Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations, (2) Participate in the development and implementation of new accounting systems and processes.

Cross-Department Collaboration: (1) Work closely with the finance team and other departments to support business initiatives and ensure accurate financial reporting, (2) Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, (3) additional duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of fixed asset accounting.
  • Knowledge of lease accounting ASC 842.
  • Experience with ERP systems and mastery of Microsoft Office Suite

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, or related field is required.
  • CPA required (either complete or in progress)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Experience with JD Edwards or SAP preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience required

Working Conditions:

Work performed in an office environment, with frequent sitting for extended periods of time and occasional lifting of 10 pounds independently; and stooping, reaching, and/or bending to perform accounting clerical/filing requirements.
