OVERVIEW:

*Candidates must reside within Los Angeles or San Diego, CA.

The Sr Field Visual Merchandiser is responsible for driving consistent execution of the brand’s visual strategy to create a differentiated customer experience that drives sales, margin and turn. This role supports the execution of brand visual standards across assigned districts to elevate the athlete’s experience and strengthen business performance, while leading and developing field visual teams.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Promotes Visual Merchandising as a key contributor to sales, margin and turn by maximizing the impact of game plans, brand standards, productivity of product flow, escalating space issues, and seasonal movement of product. Evaluates and understands store KPIs to make commercial decisions and recommendations based on sound financial judgment.

Visual Merchandising Expertise

  • Leverages KPI analysis and financial insights to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and guide commercial decisions that improve sales, margin, and productivity.

  • Creates brand-aligned merchandise presentations using strong design principles and detail.

  • Ensures optimized use of selling space, effective seasonal flow, and timely resolution of space constraints at a regional level.

  • Champions visual merchandising as a critical driver of business and athlete experience, ensuring consistent, high-quality visual execution that delivers results.  

Supports stores at the region, district and store level through training, to ensure that game plan integrity is followed for major strike points and flexed for stores with unique space constraints. Supports company visual training and brand excellence through classroom training, virtual visits and hands on training within store visits. This would also include supporting new manager development and training at CORE for visual merchandising

Training and Development

  • Builds field capability through targeted training that reinforces standards and improves game plan integrity, strike point execution and adapts strategy to unique spaces.

  • Creates an engaging, results driven learning environment using hands on methods and clear, actionable instruction tailored to diverse audiences.

  • Translates visual concepts into comprehensible, executable direction through effective facilitation. •Drives long-term capability across direct reports and field partners through structured coaching, best-practice sharing, and consistent reinforcement of standards.

 Collaborates with critical partners to find and provide solutions to store specific visual merchandising challenges based on game plan direction, brand standards, store's unique architecture and sales performance. Ensures that all updates have field leadership and CSC visibility, updates are maintainable / sustainable and documented.

Strategic Leadership and Influence

  • Leads with vision, clarity, and strategic insight to advance brand positioning across their districts.

  • Influences without authority by building partnerships, aligning stakeholders, and guiding decisions that elevate visual and operational standards.

  • Inspires teams by showing how strong visual execution drives results and improves the athlete experience.

  • Uses sound judgment to navigate differing viewpoints, resolve challenges, and ensure timely execution.

  • Leads with clarity and strategic insight to strengthen brand positioning across districts.

Supports company new concepts and growth initiatives partnering with the CSC visual team and New Store Team to understand company merchandising strategies, adjacency relevance, game plan tactics and to act as the "voice of the field" during set development through to execution.

Execution and Coordination

  • Leads planning and coordination for gameplans, transitions, launches, and new store initiatives to ensure alignment with brand standards and business goals.

  • Provides regional leadership for new store openings, remodels, and concept evolution, ensuring execution aligns with brand strategy and business goals.

  • Translates visual direction into clear, actionable plans through strong cross functional alignment and effective documentation to support scalable, sustainable execution.

  • Solves problems in real time, adapting plans to space, inventory, and operational challenges while maintaining brand consistency.

  • Improves execution by leveraging feedback, photos, and business results to refine execution quality and elevate market performance.                                                      

Builds a strong, capable field visual organization by leading, developing, and sustaining visual talent through clear expectations, coaching, and alignment to brand standards.

  • Directly manages, coaches, and develops a team of Field Visual leaders/ Dedicated Store Visual Leaders holding accountability for performance, capability growth, and engagement.

  • Leads and develops field visual talent to ensure consistent execution of brand standards and visual excellence across assigned markets.

  • Owns talent growth through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development of the field visual team.

  • Establishes clear expectations and priorities that enable teams to execute visual direction with accuracy, consistency, and highquality implementation.

  • Communicates visual standards, performance insights, and development priorities with clarity and influence to strengthen execution through people.

  • Reinforces accountability by coaching to standards, validating execution quality, and supporting readiness for current and future business needs.

  • Builds bench strength and succession capability by identifying, developing, and retaining visual talent aligned to brand and business priorities.

                                               

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's Degree in Business Management, Retail Management, Visual Merchandising

  • 7 - 10 years of Management Experience, Visual Merchandising Experience (preferably in softlines)

  • A demonstrated understanding of customer and retail merchandising strategies                  

  • Ability to be flexible and prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines and working independently                           

  • Strong problem-solving skills based on analytics                          

  • Ability to demonstrate strong conflict management skills and negotiate to resolution                                     

  • Excellent training and facilitation skills                          

  • Knowledge of customer service principles                                    

  • Manage execution responsibilities and workload of direct reports to achieve department deliverables on-time and with quality.

  • Provide direct reports with timely and regular feedback to support associate development/ growth in role.

  • Establish succession plans (0-2 year horizon) within span of control and gain Director support; successfully deliver on proposed staffing objectives.

  • Drive talent selection process for open direct report positions; Ensure all direct reports are appropriately trained and on-boarded.

Targeted Pay Range: $83,000.00 - $138,200.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
