DescriptionPosition Summary:The Senior Equipment Engineer provides advanced technical leadership for production equipment, supporting installation, validation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and reliability improvements. This role partners with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and external vendors to maximize equipment safety, uptime, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead validation and commissioning activities for new or modified equipment, including installation verification, utility connections, component inspection, and equipment placement.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, vacuum, and control-system issues.
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive maintenance, and continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce recurring equipment failures and improve reliability.
- Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to Equipment Maintenance personnel and junior engineers.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, OEMs, and vendors to support equipment safety, quality, reliability, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Develop and maintain equipment specifications, maintenance records, technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and repair documentation.
- Support equipment upgrades, installations, lifecycle improvements, component selection, and sourcing activities.
- Analyze maintenance and equipment-performance data to identify opportunities to improve uptime, maintainability, safety, and process capability.
- Ensure compliance with company quality systems, safety policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide on-call technical support as needed.
Must Have:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in equipment engineering, manufacturing engineering, maintenance engineering, or a similar manufacturing-based role.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for mechanical and electrical production equipment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical controls, and vacuum-system testing and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
- Experience with equipment validation, installation, commissioning, repairs, and upgrades.
- Proficiency with data analysis and statistical tools.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to effectively train technicians and junior engineers.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to provide on-call support.
Good to have:- Knowledge of automation and industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, root cause analysis, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.
- Hands-on experience commissioning industrial equipment or automated production lines.
- Experience in medical device, regulated manufacturing, or another highly controlled production environment.
Salary Range: $100,000- 125,000.00
