Full Job Description
Overview

Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 60 Firm, is seeking a Sr. Enterprise Applications Manager to lead the Firm’s enterprise application portfolio and the teams that support it. This is a senior leadership role with broad scope across the Firm’s core legal, financial, document, and workflow systems, and meaningful ownership of where those systems meet the practice. The role oversees the Enterprise Applications, Desktop Engineering, and Applications Development teams and partners closely with attorneys, business professionals, IT leadership, practice groups, and vendors.

A Day in the Life

The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership for the Firm's Enterprise Applications, Desktop Engineering, and Applications Development functions, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture through coaching, mentoring, performance management, career development, and succession planning. Develop and execute the Firm's enterprise application strategy and technology roadmap, ensuring technology investments align with business objectives, attorney productivity, client service, security, compliance, and operational efficiency. Lead the planning and delivery of enterprise application implementations, upgrades, migrations, integrations, and production deployments, including after-hours maintenance windows when necessary, while establishing and enforcing governance, change management, documentation, support, licensing, and application lifecycle best practices.

Serve as a trusted technology partner to attorneys, business leaders, and administrative departments by building strong cross-functional relationships and delivering reliable, business-focused technology solutions. Leverage expertise with enterprise legal applications—including Aderant, Intapp, NetDocuments, SharePoint, Milana, BigHand, and the Microsoft technology ecosystem—to support the Firm's evolving business needs. Oversee enterprise integration architecture and automated data pipelines that connect the Firm's legal, financial, document management, workflow, and business systems, while ensuring applications meet information security, confidentiality, records management, business continuity, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Manage strategic vendor relationships, software licensing, contracts, and budget recommendations to maximize value and maintain compliant, cost-effective technology operations. Continuously evaluate emerging legal technology, artificial intelligence, automation, and business applications, recommending and leading the adoption of innovative solutions that enhance service delivery and operational performance. Provide regular portfolio reporting, strategic guidance, and operational updates to IT leadership and firm governance committees, exercising sound judgment in determining when to build, buy, enhance, or retire technology solutions to best support the Firm's long-term objectives.

We Know You

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise applications, with prior experience in a law firm or legal technology environment strongly preferred. Previous leadership experience is required, including successfully coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams while fostering accountability, operational excellence, and a collaborative culture.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading enterprise technology initiatives, including large-scale application implementations, integrations, upgrades, migrations, and cross-functional projects. A proven ability to balance innovation with stability, sound governance, and operational discipline is essential, along with strong knowledge of enterprise application administration, modernization, integrations, licensing, lifecycle management, vendor management, and support best practices. Candidates should also possess familiarity with legal technology platforms, document management and financial systems, workflow and collaboration tools, the Microsoft technology ecosystem, AI-enabled business applications, and automation platforms, with the ability to evaluate and implement technologies that enhance business performance and client service.
