Full Job Description
  • Lead industrial hygiene and exposure control programs by conducting exposure assessments, air and noise monitoring, and implementing chemical hazard controls with operational groups.
  • Manage Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordkeeping and reporting while overseeing site safety metrics and communicating requirements across departments.
  • Conduct safety inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action planning to identify risks, determine root causes, and support timely follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures and training programs, ensuring regulatory alignment and coordinating training for employees, contractors, and new hires.
  • Chair the Site Safety Committee and promote employee engagement by creating opportunities for participation in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives.
  • Oversee ergonomics, laboratory safety, medical testing coordination, and safety equipment management to support safe work practices and compliance.
  • Administer emergency preparedness and response programs by maintaining emergency action plans and supporting Emergency Response Teams.
  • Manage environmental compliance activities by completing required reporting, overseeing hazardous and nonhazardous waste programs, and evaluating environmental impacts of new chemicals.

May be required to attend conferences, seminars, or training courses. Travel will include providing project and expertise support across multiple facility locations.

What You Will Bring to the Role:

Education:
  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's in safety, engineering, science, industrial hygiene or applicable technical/related field

Experience:
  • Minimum Required: 8 plus years in occupational safety, industrial hygiene and/or environmental regulations in a regulated pharmaceutical or specialty chemical manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years' experience in developing and delivering training to others.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Highly preferred: Possess or be willing to obtain certifications in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Materials, and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZPOWER), as needed to support regulatory compliance and emergency preparedness.

Work Environment: On-site in Gainesville, GA; Travel to Bend, OR and Clearwater, FL
