SR. DIRECTOR - SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

THE DIFFERENCE YOU WILL MAKE

As the Sr. Director of Supply Chain Management, we are looking for someone to develop, lead, and manage strategic supply chain initiatives for Millcraft. In this supplier-client-facing role, you will contribute to the success of Millcraft. This Executive Team position includes responsibility for supplier, brand, product selection along with driving supply chain and procurement strategy development, and the corporate wide sustainability goals for all Millcraft.

We are looking for someone to elevate the team's performance, improve compliance, and the design and implementation of organizational structures, process optimization and automation, and change management initiatives to enable Millcraft to achieve Best-In-Class supply chain performance. This requires a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, along with a deep understanding of distribution supply chain management principles and best practices.

CORE FUNCTIONS OF THIS ROLE

  • Develop the global supply chain sourcing strategy to achieve desired business outcomes and functional objectives, provide direction and insights to stakeholders and supply chain leadership on the execution of supply chain strategy to achieve optimal outcomes across all stakeholders. The primary focus for the strategy includes fine printing papers, packaging products, facility supplies, and light industrial MRO products lines of products.
  • Define program scope, objectives, and deliverables for supply chain initiatives, including but not limited to supplier relationship management (SRM), supplier and buyer scorecard implementation and procurement process optimization, inventory management, operational improvements, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Research and drive the implementation of Kanban replenishment strategy for several unique market segments/customers.
  • Drive adoption of sales and operational planning aimed at forecasting inventory demand that is aligned with business segment leadership plans.
  • Drive adoption of the use of AI tools focused on automation of redundant tasks/tactics and reallocating that time to strategic initiatives such as quarterly supplier reviews, aged inventory reduction, etc.
  • Leverage the investment of the Microsoft D365 ERP platform to drive process optimization and automation where possible using AI toolsets.
  • Research best practices in supply chain management and validate and test out emerging concepts as Millcraft aspires to continuously improve the business.
  • Lead the successful integration of production planning and controls aspects a light industrial manufacturing company. Work to include bill of materials build out, kitting, and bundling.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments. Provide regular status reports to senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and mitigation plans.
  • Develop and lead the supply chain team to help them develop, continuously improve and grow their skillsets and areas of responsibility. Help build the next generation of Millcraft leaders in the process.
  • Lead the Millcraft sustainability compliance efforts through the third-party accreditations of ISO 9001, FSC, SFI, Eco Vadis and EUDR.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritizing tasks and resources effectively to meet deadlines and achieve program objectives.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across different departments, including planning, sourcing, operations, logistics, customer care, engineering, finance, IT, and the business unit.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, the business unit, and supply chain teams.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members, ensuring clear communication channels and regular updates.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues.

  • 2+ years' experience in project management roles
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chain projects from initiation to completion
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationship management
  • Experience with lean methodologies or other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience with global sourcing and international supply chains
  • Expertise in specific areas like sustainability, risk management, or advanced analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
