Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a highly analytical, s tra tegic, and forward-thinking Sr. Director Project Execution to drive top tier project execution, focusing on quality, schedule and safety in the North American energy storage market . In this role, you will lead a team responsible for project execution for both Utility-scale and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sectors.
The successful candidate will partner closely with BESS S tra tegy, Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales, and Product Development teams to establish and drive the long-term growth s tra tegy, product roadmap governance, operational excellence initiatives, and executive reporting processes to guide executive-level decision-making and product roadmap orientation. This role requires a highly s tra tegic leader with strong project execution background, cross-functional leadership capabilities, and deep understanding of the BESS industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Project Execution Planning: Define and formulate process and strategy for industry leading execution for the North American BESS
- Market Intelligence & Policy Analysis: Understanding various requirements from differing utilities to ISOs to ensure smooth interconnection and exaction.
- Competitive Analysis: Evaluate top-tier BESS System Integrators (SIs), hardware/software vendors, and developers to benchmark our competitive positioning and identify product or partnership gaps.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with BESS Strategy, Procurement, Product Development and Sales teams to align strategic market requirements with technology roadmaps and commercial operations.
- Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a highly technical team. Identify critical skills and build up a team to ensure business continuity.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's Degree in Energy Policy, Engineering, Economics, or Finance
- Minimum 15+ years of experience leading or managing project teams.
- Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in energy storage (BESS), renewable energy, power utilities, or energy consulting.
- Deep understanding of the North American power sector, including AHJ, interconnection and regulatory requirements.
- Strong comprehension of the business models and value propositions for both Utility-scale (front-of-the-meter) and C&I (behind-the-meter) energy storage projects.
- Proven track record of working effectively within a corporate structure, with demonstrated success in managing reporting lines and stakeholder relationships across different time zones and cultural backgrounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Prior experience at top-tier BESS developers, IPPs, Utilities, or BESS SIs
COMPENSATION: In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the anticipated annual base salary for this position is:
- Zone 1 (Bay Area, NYC): $263,300 - $329,200
- Zone 2 (CA, NJ, NY): $241,300 - $301,700
- Zone 3 (All others): $219,400 - $274,300
The applicable salary range is based on the employee's primary work location. Individual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other business-related factors.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job's minimum qualifications.
