Job Title: PSD07K - Sr. Director, Product Management - PAS Technology

Brief Description:

We are seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to lead the definition of technology solutions that support UBC's Patient Services offerings, specifically focusing on Patient Access, Adherence, and Affordability. In this role, you will define the why and what of new products and act as the strategic bridge between business stakeholders, operations and technology leadership, industry leaders, and clients, ensuring our products deliver measurable value to patients, clients, and care providers. You will lead the definition of the product vision, prioritization of the product backlog, and translating business needs into actionable requirements for the development teams. You will represent and/or oversee communications related to critical and strategic clients and work with internal teams and external clients to continue ongoing business, enhance and improve our product offerings, and grow UBC's book of business.

Specific job duties:

  • Continuously monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and maintain market relevance.
  • Inform and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and value proposition for UBC solutions supporting patient access, adherence, and affordability.
  • Own and manage the product backlog to ensure development efforts are aligned with strategic business goals, client needs, and patient-centric outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, project management, regulatory, development, quality) to gather, refine, and prioritize requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and agile development teams, ensuring clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and feedback loops.
  • Engage regularly with clients and key stakeholders to deeply understand their needs, pain points, and priorities, ensuring the product backlog reflects real-world user requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance and pricing teams to understand product cost structures, pricing strategies, and profitability drivers, ensuring business viability informs product decisions.
  • Partner with marketing to develop and refine go-to-market strategies, ensuring product positioning, messaging, and launch plans are aligned with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Ensure project, scrum, and business teams are aware of new product enhancements and functionality.
  • Work closely with data and analytics teams to incorporate real-world evidence and insights that enhance patient engagement and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, data security, and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Contribute to business development activities including RFI and RFP responses, project pricing and estimation, client presentations, and strategic planning.
  • Monitor product performance, user feedback, industry trends, and competitor activity to drive continuous improvement and keep the product portfolio aligned with current market expectations.
  • Collaborate with project management and delivery leadership during program startup to ensure approved scope, product intent, client commitments, decision history, budget assumptions, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations are clearly transferred to the delivery organization.
  • Serve as an executive-facing product solution leader in strategic client meetings, bid defenses, governance forums, quarterly business reviews, and portfolio-level client discussions where future functionality, scope, roadmap direction, or product investment may be discussed.
  • Ensure proposed client commitments are evaluated for scope, feasibility, regulatory impact, validation impact, budget requirements, resource needs, and delivery risk before commitments are finalized.
  • Sponsor business cases and technology/AI governance review materials that define product objectives, target users/stakeholders, expected value, costs, dependencies, risks, assumptions, success measures, and decision points.
  • Partner with architecture, engineering, information security, privacy, quality, compliance, and data governance stakeholders to ensure product direction aligns with enterprise standards and regulated-life-sciences operating requirements.
  • Establish relationships with Pharma clients to develop co-definition, co-development, idea exchange, and early adoption outside of traditional engagement during the RFP process.
