Full Job Description
Job Summary:
The Sr. Director of Operations will inherit a solid foundation and mandate: Scale our packaging and kitting operation from $5M to $10M in annual revenue - doubling the size of the business while maintaining quality and delivery excellence. Deepen our use of a recently implemented ERP system that has already transformed how we operate. We have invested; now we need to fully realize that investment. Reimagine what meaningful work looks like on the production floor. By the end of 2028, Opportunity Partners will transition away from sub-minimum wage employment - and this leader will help design what comes next for the people we support. Lead and develop our operations team - managers and frontline supervisors who are ready to grow with the right mentor. If you have built operations before and want to spend this phase of your career doing work that changes lives - not just moving product - we want to talk to you.
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Salary: $125,000.00 base salary+ $5,000.00 annual bonus potential
What You Will Do:
Operations Leadership
Lead our packaging, purchasing, planning, quality, and warehousing teams to consistently meet customer requirements and delivery timelines.
Drive performance through well-designed KPIs, a culture of accountability, and the operational systems needed to support significant growth.
Champion continuous improvement - lean practices, process discipline, and a team culture where people bring problems forward, not hide them.
Continue to build out and optimize our ERP system as the operational backbone of a growing enterprise.
Growth and Customer Partnership
Partner closely with our Senior Director of Business Development to expand customer relationships and win new business across the Twin Cities.
Help design the operational capabilities - capacity, systems, and talent - required to scale from $5M to $10M in revenue.
Meet with current and prospective customers as a visible and credible operational leader.
Mission Integration
Work alongside our Day Services leadership team to ensure the people we support have excellent, meaningful work experiences.
Lead the operational transition away from sub-minimum wage employment by end of 2028 - co-designing new models for inclusive, compensated, purposeful work on the production floor.
Be a thoughtful steward of our dual mandate: running a competitive business and advancing the quality of life for people with disabilities.
People Development
Coach, mentor, and develop your operations leadership team - people who are capable and committed and need an experienced leader to help them grow.
Model the culture you want to build: direct, caring, curious, and accountable.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience
A bachelor's degree in operations, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related field - or equivalent experience that demonstrates the same depth.
10+ years of operations leadership experience in a manufacturing, contract packaging, assembly, or job-shop environment.
5+ years leading managers and directors - you have built teams and developed leaders, not just managed tasks.
Demonstrated success with ERP systems - you know how to drive adoption, improve utilization, and build processes around a platform.
Track record of scaling operations - you have grown a business, expanded capacity, or navigated significant change.
Experience with warehousing operations is preferred.
Skills and Approach
Lean, Six Sigma, or kaizen experience - you have the vocabulary and the tools, and you know how to make them stick.
Customer-facing credibility - you can sit across from a business partner and earn their confidence.
Systems thinker - you see how the pieces connect and you build for the future, not just for today.
