JOB SUMMARY:The Senior Director of Nursing will be working in a Behavioral Health environment and will directly supervise RNs and LPNs who will provide direct service to individuals receiving mental health and substance use services, such as clinical nursing assessments, labs, injections, and medication management training. Additionally this position will supervise a team of Medical Assistants who provide support to the medical teams and coordinates services with outside medical providers and pharmacies. The Senior Director of Nursing is part of the Leadership Team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, supervise, assign, and manage the clinical responsibilities provided by nursing staff and medical assistants to ensure that clinical needs are met for the Outpatient and Residential programs and assists in programs by providing nursing services as needed.
- Participate on the Leadership Team team with other managers and directors to address administrative, management, and programmatic needs as needed.
- Coordinates with the Infection Control Coordinator to monitor infection reports, medication variance reports and other medical incident reports to assist in resolution of any identified issues as needed.
- Ensure monthly nursing audits are completed and analyze results to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures and to give feedback on best practices.
- Completes nursing staff selection and recruitment; provides initial and ongoing training for nurses; provides monthly supervision and coaching for direct reports and completes all necessary paperwork for Human Resources.
- Provide in-service training opportunities for nursing staff to ensure compliance with service requirements
- Acquire and maintain current medical knowledge and skills and professional standards
- Collaborates with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Clinical Operations Officer and Chief Crisis Services Officer to assist with policy and procedure development, implementation of new protocols and programs for CCBHC certification and resolution of incidents or trends discovered as needed.
- Chairs the Medical Management Committee meetings to resolve issues as identified, review internal Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state policies and regulations as well as CARF, DBHDD and other departments.

RequirementsLicensed per the State of Georgia as an RN
5 years' experience with Mental Health
5 years' experience providing training to medical staff
Bilingual abilities a plus
