Responsibilities

  • Own the design and execution of inventory control frameworks for SOC 1 compliance.

Full Job Description
Key Responsibilities

SOC 1 Compliance & Governance

  • Own the design and execution of inventory control frameworks that satisfy SOC 1 requirements.
  • Maintain robust, auditable trails for all inventory adjustments, write-offs, and transfers.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors during annual SOC 1 Type II examinations.
  • Remediate any identified control deficiencies or exceptions swiftly to prevent qualified audit opinions.
  • Govern user access controls and transaction logging within the WMS to ensure segregation of duties.


Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Design and execute the enterprise-wide 3PL inventory control strategy.
  • Standardize cycle counting, physical inventory, and reconciliation processes across all sites.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) and shrink.
  • Optimize WMS inventory modules (e.g., Manhattan, Blue Yonder, SAP) to automate control workflows.
  • Lead root-cause analysis investigations for systemic inventory discrepancies and variances.


Client & Commercial Management

  • Serve as a senior leader point of contact for client auditors reviewing SOC 1 reports.
  • Provide assurance to clients regarding the effectiveness of internal controls protecting their assets.
  • Collaborate with business development to define inventory SLAs and control frameworks for new clients.
  • Present control performance metrics during client Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).


Team Leadership & Financial Accountability

  • Direct and mentor a regional team of Inventory Control Managers and Analysts.
  • Manage the annual departmental budget for the inventory control division.
  • Train node-level inventory teams on SOC 1 compliance behaviors and documentation standards.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of supply chain experience, with 5+ years in a multi-site 3PL leadership role or Senior Inventory Control role required.
  • Audit Expertise: Proven experience managing inventory systems subject to external SOC 1 / SOX audits required. Prefer SOC 2 experience.
  • Certifications: APICS (CPIM/CSCP), Lean Six Sigma, or internal audit certifications preferred.
  • Systems: Advanced proficiency in tier-1 WMS platforms with strong system-audit configurations required.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 30-40% to regional logistics facilities.
