The LV Test and Validation team verifies the reliability, electrical performance, and compliance of low-voltage vehicle electronics. The team works with LVEE hardware design engineers and internal and external laboratories to produce decision-ready validation evidence. Its work spans component testing, test automation, failure investigation, and laboratory operations.
Role:As a Sr. Design Validation and Test Technician, you will execute low-voltage component validation and maintain an organized, dependable DVT laboratory. Reporting to the Low-Voltage Test and Validation manager, you will work closely with design engineers and laboratory partners to complete DVP commitments on time. You will combine hands-on execution with disciplined analysis, documentation, and issue closure. Success in the first year means repeatable tests, complete evidence, and timely resolution of issues affecting current and future vehicle programs.
- Daily Component Testing: Oversee and execute LVT&V component tests in internal and external laboratories using test plans provided by Lucid Engineering.
- Bench and DUT Preparation: Set up test benches and fixtures, instrument devices under test, and execute controlled test procedures.
- ECU Support: Provide practical engineering support for ECUs, including laboratory equipment use, soldering, and cable assembly.
- Failure Investigation: Debug failures and anomalies with engineers to identify causes and potential corrective actions.
- Test Documentation: Maintain rigorous, detail-oriented test records and progress reports that make execution status and results clear.
- Laboratory Management: Organize and maintain DVT laboratory space, equipment, and inventory to support safe, repeatable testing.
Qualifications:- AA/AS degree and 5+ years of related experience.
- Detail-oriented execution of procedures with the ability to work independently under an engineer's direction.
- Experience with laboratory test equipment including environmental chambers, power supplies, DAQ systems, and oscilloscopes.
- Soldering and cable assembly experience.
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and documentation tools, plus excellent communication and a team-oriented attitude.
Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Base Pay Range (hourly)
$40-$56 USD
