What We Are Seeking

The Senior Cost Accountant is an influential role for E.A. Sween Company with the ability to significantly impact performance and profitability. The ownership will be primary in our South Carolina manufacturing facility with support for our other two Minnesota facilities and items from our third-party processors. Essential functions and key responsibilities would potentially expand to other duties assigned and/or ad hoc assignments and projects.

Compensation: The target salary range for this position is $80,000-$85,000 annually, consistent with our internal compensation framework. This position is classified as Grade 14, with a full pay range of $75,571.03 to $113,468.46. You are eligible for an incentive bonus up to 10% of our annual salary, prorated based on your start date. Final pay will be determined by your experience, skills, internal equity, and available budget.

Leadership

  • Lead with a clear vision and motivate others to achieve success by presenting the team with fact-based analysis, an educator's approach to empower, and by providing solid recommendations.
  • Proactively partner across teams as a strong communicator skilled at translating data into a story to drive business growth and deliver on the overall strategy.
  • Provide regular and continual feedback and support to the business.
  • Aid the Operations Controller with additional duties or projects as needed.
  • Assist in communicating with cross-functional teams and Company Leaders to ensure alignment of goals and strategies.


Continuous Improvement

  • Champion change by routinely creating and implementing effective, efficient, and uniform processes that will drive improved quality to our internal and external customers and lower costs.
  • Partner with the Continuous Improvement team to provide insight on opportunities to drive for cost savings along with tracking of savings on projects.
  • Use the Spirit of EA Sween to guide decisions.
  • Identify solutions and create resource to control gaps.


Costing & Analysis

  • Ownership of all costing structure and analysis throughout all operations. Including the identification of major cost drivers, volume, mix, yield, labor, overhead, usage, commodities, and other expenses paired with problem solving recommendations to improve margins and/or mitigate risks.
  • Analysis of work orders, setting standards, actual results, and both building and preparing periodic reports and presentations to drive uniformity, give visibility, and to drive future predictability.
  • Support with pricing analysis by validating cost accuracy for bids and scenario flex analysis and other miscellaneous items.
  • Assistance in internal and external audits, physical inventories, month-end financial closing procedures, and setting of standard costs of manufactured goods as needed.
  • Support the development of annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.
  • Ability to generate and analyze P&L statements and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensuring all operating costs are identified and recorded accurately.


Inventory Control

  • Manages inventory control, including policies, procedures, and execution for inventory valuation and quantification
  • Works closely with Operations' employees and third parties to reconcile inventory balances and ensure transaction accuracy.
  • Process various inventory transactions and vendor chargebacks.
  • Analyzing manufacturing capacities, equipment availability, and utilization.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting, finance, or other related field.
  • 5+ years related progressive experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lean knowledge and practical experience is required.
  • Subject Matter Expert in with ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail..
  • Knowledge of financial guidelines and regulations.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
  • Good organizational and mathematical skills to assure timely goal completion and accurate record reporting.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Preferred JD Edwards
