Position: Sr. Construction Scheduler (Automotive & Energy)

POSITION SUMMARY

Barton Malow Company is seeking a Sr. Construction Scheduler for automotive and energy projects across the state of Michigan. The Lead Scheduler will be assigned to a large, complex, and fast-paced construction projects. The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and an effective team player with excellent communication and client service skills. Building strong relationships with operational personnel to drive processes and deliver results is key to the role. Please note this position will be working onsite full-time.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead planning and scheduling efforts for the project and assist the project team in developing detailed project schedules.
  • Monitor and track schedule progress, ensuring that subcontractor and owner reporting requirements are met.
  • Establish baseline schedules, draft narratives, and conduct variance, float, and delay analyses.
  • Forecast the project from a schedule perspective, aligning schedule performance with cost and manhour projections.
  • Supervise and mentor Planning & Scheduling team members to ensure project goals are met.
  • Drive the change management process, documenting scope changes or unforeseen issues affecting the schedule, and managing the incorporation of fragments and Time Impact Analysis (TIA) as needed.
  • Proactively communicate any risk factors that arise during the project to on-site personnel and upper management to ensure timely action is taken.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment between the project schedule and its associated milestones.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a similar field is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Planning & Scheduling within the engineering or construction industry.
  • Prior industrial experience; including automotive, and clean energy projects.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 Professional for project scheduling (5-10 years of experience preferred).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer).
  • Basic proficiency with Bluebeam, Autodesk Build, and Box.
  • Strong ability to manage and communicate work effectively with all team members.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, track, and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
