About the role:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Compliance, the Sr. Compliance Associate supports the development and implementation of programs, policies, and practices to help ensure that business units' activities follow regulatory requirements. This role assists in maintaining programs, policies, and practices related to regulatory compliance in support of broader compliance objectives. Helps track laws and regulations that might affect the organization's policies and supports the implementation of necessary changes, in consultation with the Advisory team members supporting Small Business (SMB) and Consumer lending businesses.
Responsibilities:
Support compliance efforts across business units by gaining and maintaining working knowledge of federal and state consumer protection laws and regulations, particularly lending laws including but not limited to UDAP/UDAAP, ECOA, FCRA, TILA, TCPA.
Research and support compliance team members in responding to compliance questions and requests from business units, escalating complex or ambiguous matters to senior Advisory team members.
Support compliance diligence reviews and responsibilities related to third party risk management, customer complaints, compliance testing, compliance risk assessments, or other compliance related-initiatives as they arise.
Help identify compliance and operational risks in the compliance system and business processes; assist in root cause analysis and in developing recommendations, in consultation with the senior Advisory team members.
Act as a point of contact between business units and the Advisory team in supporting internal or external audit requests, the implementation of compliance controls arising from compliance audits, testing findings, and/or examination findings, and follow-up on actions or responses.
Support efforts to identify gaps in the compliance program and participate in implementing changes to policies, processes, and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
Regulatory compliance experience in a lending industry is a plus (e.g., installment lending, bank, mortgage company, thrift or credit union, commercial or consumer lending, etc.)
Strong exposure in the implementation, training and/or monitoring of business operations for compliance with laws and regulations and established policies, business rules and procedures
Willingness to learn and assist with other compliance-related projects and initiatives
Excellent writing and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Can work independently or in a team
Willingness to learn and assist with other compliance-related projects and initiatives
Proficiency and self-sufficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications (namely, Word Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets). Experience with AI applications (Claude, Gemini, etc.) is a plus
Compensation:
The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $95,000. Actual annual salary will be determined based on qualifications, skills, experience, and level assessed during the hiring process and may fall outside of the range shown. Additional compensation for this role may include a bonus and restricted stock units. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in Company benefits, described in more detail here.
