About the RoleHappen Bank's Second Line Compliance Department is seeking a Sr Compliance Advisory Manager - Lending to provide compliance advisory oversight across Happen Bank's Personal Lending products. In this role, you'll identify, assess, and manage compliance risk across the full product lifecycle, from applicant sourcing and underwriting through funding, servicing, and partner oversight.
You'll partner closely with business and risk leaders to strengthen the Bank's compliance risk management framework, including related policies, procedures, and controls, and help ensure our lending products remain compliant as products, business practices, and regulatory requirements evolve.
What You'll Do- Assess regulatory risks and controls across lending products, identify gaps, and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies
- Partner with senior management on strategic priorities, risk assessments, regulatory change, compliance monitoring and testing, training, issues management, consumer complaints, and third-party risk
- Develop and maintain lending compliance policies, standards, and other documented requirements, and partner with business leaders to translate those requirements into effective procedures, systems, and controls
- Provide lending compliance guidance to business partners, helping teams identify regulatory risk early and operationalize compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle
- Partner with the Compliance Program Office to develop regulation-based and role-based training on applicable lending laws, regulations, and policy requirements
- Collaborate with Compliance Testing and Monitoring teams to develop strategies that assess compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, identify control gaps or defects, and support appropriate corrective action
- Track material lending compliance issues through timely resolution and partner with Regulatory Change Management to identify new or changing regulations and operationalize applicable requirements
- Prepare and deliver clear analysis and reporting on lending compliance risks, trends, issues, and program effectiveness to management and applicable oversight committees
- Use AI thoughtfully to synthesize regulatory change, identify patterns across compliance testing and other risk information, and strengthen how the team analyzes and communicates compliance risk
About You- 6+ years of experience in banking or financial services, primarily within compliance, risk management, or audit
- Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Direct experience in lending compliance with a focus on consumer credit, including working knowledge of ECOA, UDAAP, TILA, FCRA, MLA/SCRA, TCPA, GLBA, EFTA, ESIGN, and applicable state laws
- Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments and delivering high-quality results across competing priorities, aggressive timelines, and evolving requirements
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to build effective partnerships and drive decisions across business and risk teams
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous compliance issues and apply sound judgment
- You take ownership of your work, drive initiatives through resolution, and proactively communicate risks, progress, and issues along the way
- You adapt quickly to shifting priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail, quality, and regulatory requirements
- You have hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate your work and improve output quality. You're equally comfortable using them yourself and showing colleagues how, while staying thoughtful about data sensitivity, accuracy, limitations, and where human judgment matters most
Nice to Have- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or similar professional certification
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations and compliance audits, including developing, tracking, and executing corrective actions

The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role's team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role's success, and remote placement will not be considered. Happen Bank offers relocation, based on actual job level.

While the position will primarily work local hours, Happen Bank is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.
Travel Requirements As needed travel to Happen Bank offices and/or other locations, as needed.
Compensation The target base salary range for this position is 115,000-155,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of Happen Bank's Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
