Senior Backend Engineer to help design, build, and scale software applications and platforms. This role combines hands-on development, technical leadership, and collaboration with customers. We're looking for someone who is passionate about solving complex problems, building reliable cloud-native systems, and mentoring others while maintaining a strong attention to detail. You should be experienced in leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, testing, debugging, and documentation while maintaining rigorous engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing backend services and APIs using Python, GraphQL, and AWS.
- Lead technical design and architecture decisions for cloud-native and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with developers and customers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Engage directly with customers during discovery, solution design, and troubleshooting discussions.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and engineering best practices.
- Drive improvements in reliability, security, observability, testing, and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and system-level issues.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards of quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant backend development experience.
- Expert-level Python development experience in production environments.
- Strong experience designing and implementing GraphQLAPIs and backend architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native application development.
- Deep understanding of API design, microservices, distributed systems, and database design.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and operational best practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience gathering requirements, managing stakeholder expectations, and engaging directly with customers.
- Proficiency with AI-powered developer tools and the ability to validate and review AI-generated code effectively.
