The Sr. Associate, RF/Microwave Engineer, is an intermediate professional with practical job knowledge. Working alongside an experienced engineering team, the position offers an individual the opportunity to play a key role in the development of cutting-edge Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMAs), and novel active and passive high frequency components. Contributes to the synthesis and development of microwave circuits using CAE analysis tools and shall possess hands on bench development and test skills. Able to effectively communicate with contacts inside and outside of own department, customers, and suppliers and recommend enhancements to systems and processes. Work to achieve technical performance while meeting schedule and cost operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
**Essential Functions:**
- Design, develop, test and support production of active and passive microwave circuits and multi-function modules.
- Perform linear simulations of active and passive microwave circuits.
- Perform EM simulations of passive microwave circuits.
- Support the RF and microwave subassembly system analysis.
- Develop specifications for microwave components and subassemblies.
- Perform RF testing, data analysis, and documentation of design results.
- Design for ease of manufacturing.
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout review, integration and troubleshoot activities.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.
- Experience with microwave test equipment. Equipment would include network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and/or noise figure meters.
- Experience with linear CAE, particularly Keysight ADS, to simulate and design microwave circuits.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with other functional areas.
- Ability to gain Secret Level Security Clearance.
** Preferred Additional Skills:**
- Experience in the design of passive components including coupling networks, power dividers and attenuators.
- Design/test experience of active microwave circuits.
- System cascade analysis experience.
- Experience designing products for Manufacturing.
- Experience using EM simulation CAE, Keysight RFPro and/or Ansys HFSS is preferred.
- Use of CAD tools such as AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with device semiconductors, such as GaAs and GaN.
- Experience designing with both chip and wire hybrid and PCB surface mount components.
- Hands-on experience testing and aligning fine pitch circuits under a microscope.
- College level courses (or equivalent) on RF/Microwave circuit and/or system design.
