Full Job Description
The Senior Asset Accountant supports accounting and financial management for large-scale wind, solar and battery-storage operations, working with multiple internal and external teams to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient asset accounting processes.
Responsibilities
• Oversee full-cycle accounting functions for assigned assets, ensuring accuracy, policy compliance, GAAP adherence, and regulatory compliance.
• Produce accurate and timely monthly financial reports for assigned assets.
• Prepare reports and documentation for third-party partners and external audits.
• Partner with Asset Managers, FP&A and business teams to support monthly and quarterly reporting.
• Support and complete month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review the classification accuracy of vendor and subcontractor invoices.
• Perform financial variance analysis.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation
• Support production of quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Establish and maintain accounting processes.
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting experience, covering multiple areas of accounting including reporting
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
• Netsuite and Onestream experience preferred
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong work ethic and high work standards
• Must have strong organizational capacity to simultaneously manage multiple assets with competing deadlines and be able to quickly adapt to changes and shift priorities to meet asset needs and deadlines
