About the Role

We are seeking an Sr Analyst, EHSS- Safety Engineer to join our team at our Swedesboro bakery. As an Sr. Analyst EHSS Safety Engineer, you will be accountable for leading the development and implementation of safety systems that ensure regulatory compliance, reduce workplace risks, and support efficient production in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment while upholding strict food safety and quality standards.

Compensation:

Salary range: $85,000- $95,000

Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)
  • Develop and implement safety programs and engineering controls to reduce workplace hazards in food manufacturing environments
  • Conduct risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) across equipment and operations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, USDA, and GFSI standards and lead safety audits and inspections
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, driving corrective actions and tracking completion
  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance to integrate safety into production processes and capital projects
  • Monitor safety performance metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses) and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Deliver safety training programs and promote a proactive, behavior-based safety culture across the site


Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field
  • 3-5 years of safety experience in food manufacturing or industrial production environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices (LOTO, machine guarding, confined space)
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in temperature-controlled conditions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Certification such as CSP, ASP, or OSHA 30/40-hour required


Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
  • Experience in high-speed food production or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and GFSI standards (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000)
  • Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration safety and chemical handling processes
  • Experience with ergonomics and repetitive motion injury prevention
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills
