It coordinates project planning, requirements, process design, testing, training, risk management, vendor delivery, and go-live readiness while ensuring required IT, Cybersecurity, Legal, Procurement, data, contractual, and internal control reviews are identified, completed, and documented.
The Senior Business Systems Analyst will serve as an integral member of the Accounting team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
- Business Partnership and Process Analysis: Partner with leaders, subject matter experts, and end users to understand objectives, pain points, risks, dependencies, and desired outcomes. Analyze current-state processes; facilitate future-state design; and recommend practical opportunities for standardization, simplification, automation, and stronger controls.
- Requirements Management: Plan and facilitate discovery sessions and workshops. Gather, analyze, prioritize, validate, and document business, functional, reporting, data, integration, security, compliance, and control requirements. Maintain traceability from business objectives through solution design, testing, and delivery; manage requirement and scope changes.
- System Evaluation and Selection: Lead structured evaluations of software, implementation partners, and technology solutions. Develop evaluation plans, vendor questionnaires, demonstration scripts, scoring models, and selection criteria. Assess functional fit, business value, cost, complexity, user experience, reporting, data, integrations, security, controls, scalability, support, contractual considerations, and maintainability. Document findings, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations.
- Project and Implementation Leadership: Lead assigned initiatives from initiation through deployment and stabilization. Establish scope, objectives, deliverables, roles, milestones, dependencies, success measures, schedules, risk and issue logs, decision records, testing plans, communications, cutover activities, and transition-to-support plans. Monitor progress, manage scope, resolve or escalate issues, coordinate readiness reviews, and conduct post-implementation reviews.
- Governance, Risk, and Controls: Identify required reviews, approvals, policies, standards, and control requirements. Coordinate engagement with IT, Cybersecurity, Legal, Procurement, Finance, data governance, risk, internal controls, records management, and audit. - Testing, Data, Reporting, and Integration: Develop or coordinate risk-based testing across requirements, business processes, integrations, reports, data, security roles, workflows, controls, and exceptions. Coordinate test scenarios, defect resolution, retesting, acceptance, and signoff. Identify conversion, migration, interface, reconciliation, reporting, data ownership, and quality requirements and coordinate business validation.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Serve as a primary business and project contact for vendors, consultants, and implementation partners. Establish expectations for responsibilities, deliverables, milestones, documentation, issue resolution, quality, and communication. Review deliverables, manage risks and delays, support statement-of-work review, escalate material concerns, and promote knowledge transfer.
- Stakeholder Communication and Facilitation: Build effective cross-functional relationships and facilitate discussions that produce clear decisions, owners, and next steps. Translate technical information into business terms and business needs into system requirements. Provide concise updates on project health, milestones, decisions, risks, issues, scope, schedule, and resource needs. Influence outcomes without formal authority.
- Change Management, Training, and Adoption: Assess organizational impacts and stakeholder needs. Coordinate communications, training, procedures, job aids, support materials, feedback channels, adoption monitoring, and transition activities. Promote sustainable solution ownership after implementation.
