Job Title: Specialist, Systems EngineerJob Code: 45434Job Location: Greenville, TXJob Schedule: 9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday offJob Description:The Specialist, Systems Engineer (SE) performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and troubleshooting for total systems and/or subsystems. The Specialist SE is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms.
Essential Functions:- 10% travel based on business needs.
- Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
- Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
- Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
- Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements.
- Perform requirement traceability.
- Develop and evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
- Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
- Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs.
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Active US Secret security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware in a multi-domain mobile airborne data link, video, and voice systems environment.
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience with Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support.
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience with configuration and integration of aircraft RF and satellite communications systems, or cryptographic equipment.
Preferred Additional Skills- Knowledge of LAN and VOIP protocols to include IP routing.
- Knowledge of mission systems: EO/IR, Video, Networks, SI/EW, etc.
- Model-based Systems Engineering and Simulation experience.
- Troubleshooting and multi-level testing for RF applications.
- Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose.
- Knowledge of the systems engineering trade study process.
- Experience conducting verification testing.
- Experience working with subcontractors and U.S. Government customers.
- Experience developing, authoring, and implementing system test plans.
- Engineering efforts involving FAA-certified general category aircraft.
