The Opportunity

Join WSP's Power Generation SME Team and help shape the future of thermal power generation projects. Bring your deep Combined Cycle Gas Turbine expertise to major power generation projects ranging from 150 MW to more than 1 GW, providing technical leadership across Owner's Engineer, feasibility, Pre-FEED, FEED, EPCM and EPC delivery models.

As a trusted technical advisor, you will help win work, guide multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineering professionals, and deliver technically sound solutions for utilities, independent power producers, developers, data center operators, and industrial clients.

Your Impact
  • Lead as WSP's technical authority for combined cycle power generation, providing expert guidance on gas turbines, steam cycles, HRSG systems, plant integration, reliability, and performance.
  • Guide projects throughout the lifecycle, from concept development and feasibility through FEED, detailed engineering reviews, commissioning, startup, and commercial operation.
  • Evaluate plant performance, heat rate, capacity optimization, OEM and EPC contractor designs, and technical risks to strengthen project outcomes.
  • Develop technical specifications, performance requirements, design reviews, commissioning plans, and recommendations that help clients make informed decisions.
  • Deliver Owner's Engineer, lender's engineering, technical due diligence, and advisory assignments for utilities, developers, lenders, OEMs, and EPC contractors.
  • Advance business growth through proposal development, technical presentations, project pursuits, and relationships with clients and strategic industry partners.
  • Advise clients and project teams on emerging power generation technologies, market developments, and decarbonization strategies.
  • Mentor engineers and project managers, sharing lessons learned and industry best practices from power plant design, construction, commissioning, and operations.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Recognized expertise in combined cycle power plant design, operation, commissioning, reliability, and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience with combined cycle plant integration, performance evaluation, operational optimization, and reliability improvement across the project lifecycle.
  • Proven capability delivering Owner's Engineer and technical advisory services, including due diligence, design reviews, bid evaluations, specification development, and risk assessments.
  • Deep understanding of gas turbines, steam cycles, HRSG systems, plant integration, and combined cycle performance.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard thermal power generation modeling and simulation tools for heat balance development, performance assessment, technology selection, and Owner's Engineer assignments.
  • Experience providing senior technical guidance to utilities, developers, lenders, OEMs, EPC contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Knowledge of emerging power generation technologies and decarbonization strategies.
  • Ability to combine deep technical expertise with business development, project delivery, client advisory, and mentorship.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $194,700 - $257,900
MB & ON: 177,600 - $244,600
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $175,800 - $233,500
