Salary Range:

$67,687.00 - $117,791.00 Annually

Hiring Salary Range:

$67,687.00 - $83,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

This position supports the Chief Operating Officer (COO) as a Special Projects Coordinator for SUD initiatives. The Special Projects Coordinator assists the COO in tracking and monitoring enterprise projects, solicitations, community events, marketing, and facilities. The incumbent also manages event administration from planning through completion. Some assignments will include clerical tasks.

Essential Functions
  • Manage several high-priority projects for the COO, work toward goals and making sure tasks stay on schedule.
  • Make sure deliverables are completed on time and help solve any issues that come up.
  • Coordinate and manage social media, communications, and outreach strategies.
  • Build and maintain positive, efficient relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Help oversee and monitor agency or unit projects and initiatives to make sure goals are met.
  • Work with unit or agency leaders and key staff to keep projects on track and meet deadlines.
  • Start and lead special projects and initiatives, addressing any political or operational challenges that arise.
  • Help organize meetings and support decision-making with the Senior leadership team.
  • Serve as a facilitator for public health emergencies.


Minimum Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and

AND

Experience: Have four years of experience in coordinating, monitoring and processing cases involving the provision of health, social, vocational or rehabilitation services to clients including two years of experience supervising subordinate staff or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OR

Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of public health services and practices.
  • Skill in coordinating responses from multiple public and private agencies, institutions and community resource organizations.
  • Ability to plan, implement and administer a high-level, high profile special initiative program or project.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective liaisons with people of varied backgrounds, including clients, families, neighbors, government representatives and officials and public and private community institutions, service providers and personnel.
  • Ability to deal with emergency or crisis situations with calm, tact and dispatch.
  • Ability to promote program activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Administrative experience.

Probation

All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6-month mandatory probation.
