Position Description:

The SOX Compliance Analyst is a member of the Bank’s SOX Compliance department which serves as the second line of defense for the Bank’s internal control over financial reporting program. The impact of the SOX Compliance department is dependent on trust at all levels of Bank personnel built through strong relationships, high quality and detailed work, and excellent communication.

Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with SOX Compliance department members and business process owners to develop and maintain a good understanding of the Bank’s business processes and IT systems.

- Assist with the Bank’s risk assessment by identifying and documenting significant accounts, related business processes and supporting IT systems.

- Drive timely updates to the department’s documentation of process flow charts, process narratives, risk/control matrices, and key reports inventory.

- Actively lead and/or participate in process walkthroughs with business process owners by asking detailed, probing questions and support documentation of the results of the walkthroughs and assessment of the design of controls.

- Test the operating effectiveness of entity level controls and manual, automated, IT dependent business process controls mitigating identified risks of misstatement, and related key reports and queries. Document work performed in high-quality, detailed workpapers using an online compliance management system. Interact with control owners to request necessary evidence for testing. Review testing performed by other team members.

- Assess the impact of service organizations’ internal controls on the Bank’s internal controls by reviewing SOC 1 reports received.

- Collaborate with control owners to assess testing exceptions, including those noted in SOC 1 reports, help identify root cause, and test remediation as applicable.

- Participate in special projects as assigned.

Skill Requirements:

Must possess knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), PCAOB, SOC 1, ethics and compliance best practices. Must have the ability to articulate the need for appropriate controls. Must possess strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience using SQL for testing controls and key reports preferred.

Essential Security, Compliance, and Confidentiality Functions:

- Help to ensure that IT resources (data, applications and infrastructure) are kept secure from unauthorized access and use.

- Report any security related concerns to senior IT Management.

- Participate in ongoing security related training as approved by management.

- Keep informed of and follow Standards and Procedures as presented in the ITS&P and the FCBT General Computer Controls.

- Work with IT compliance to ensure all assigned operational compliance responsibilities are carried out in an efficient manner and report any compliance concerns to senior IT Management.

- Exercise reasonable care in maintaining the confidentiality of FCBT’s information and use of such information for FCBT’s business purposes only.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field and a minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of experience in public accounting with specific experience in internal control over financial reporting within the banking sector. CISA, CPA, or similar certification preferred.
