We are open to candidates based within commutable distance to a CDM Smith office in FL, VA, GA, SC or NC

This is a strategic leadership position to serve as a Discipline Leader (DL) for Water Reuse in our Water Reuse Community of Practice (COP). This DL will assist in developing creative approaches to the planning, design and delivery of water reclamation and water reuse projects in the Southeast Region during both the pursuit and delivery phase of projects. The DL role also works alongside the Water Reuse strategy team to grow the firm's technical luminescence and industry presence. This may include involvement in R&D projects, professional society leadership or committee engagement, developing conference abstracts or journal articles on water reclamation and reuse projects and visible conference attendance.

As a strategic member of the CDM Smith team, you will help with application of treatment related technologies, growing our technical capabilities within the discipline, developing our team members who are passionate about recycled water, and assisting with sales and delivery growth. Working with Practice Leaders (PLs), other DLs, and engineering and construction leaders across the organization you will be empowered to deliver innovative solutions while interacting effectively with clients, project engineers, and vendors.

Main responsibilities include:
  1. Provides guidance and coordinates with other subject matter experts on the delivery of water reclamation and water reuse projects.
  2. Performs and coordinates with designated team members for quality checking of documents for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed.
  3. Collaborates with the Water Reuse Practice Leader and sales staff to support proposals in response to requests for Proposals (RFPs). Reviews draft proposals as part of technical review team for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations, and best practices. Meets with current and potential future clients as needed to review their current and future project needs.
  4. Attends and presents at conferences, symposia, etc. to contribute to the technical luminescence and visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with PLs, DLs, sales and other technical staff.
  5. Provides technical guidance and training to senior, mid-level and junior staff working on water reclamation and reuse projects. Mentors staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm. Supervises the work of engineers on project work and delegates as necessary.
  6. Alternative delivery experience such as progressive design build is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 15 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
Pay Range Min

USD $134,264.00
Pay Range Max

USD $248,394.00
Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
