Reporting to: President, EVP, VP or Sector Lead

Overview of Role

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and growth-oriented leader to serve as South Regional Healthcare Lead. This role is responsible for growing RLB's healthcare presence within an assigned region through client development, project delivery excellence, technical leadership, and team mentorship.

Serving as the regional face of RLB's healthcare practice, the regional lead will build trusted relationships with healthcare executives, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and oversee the successful delivery of complex healthcare capital projects. This position requires a balance of business development, market strategy, healthcare expertise, and people leadership.

Working closely with RLB's National Healthcare Lead, the regional lead will support key healthcare clients, drive regional growth initiatives, foster cross-regional collaboration, and help ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across the healthcare practice.

The ideal candidate is a recognized healthcare leader with experience managing complex healthcare programs and developing strong client relationships within a consulting, owner's representative, project management, or healthcare delivery environment. Candidates should possess expertise in healthcare planning, design, construction, infrastructure modernization, commissioning, regulatory compliance, and alternative project delivery methods.

Essential Functions

Market Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a regional healthcare growth strategy aligned with RLB's national and global business objectives.
  • Monitor healthcare industry trends, market dynamics, regulatory changes, reimbursement influences, and capital investment patterns to identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain actionable market intelligence across health systems, academic medical centers, physician groups, and emerging care delivery models.
  • Establish and strengthen RLB's position as a trusted healthcare advisor throughout the region.
  • Represent RLB at industry events, professional organizations, and healthcare forums.
  • Develop annual business plans, growth initiatives, revenue forecasts, and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with the National Healthcare Lead and regional office leaders to align market strategies and client development efforts.
  • Identify and develop new service offerings that enhance RLB's value proposition within healthcare consulting, advisory, project management, cost management, and owner's representation.


Business Development & Client Relationships

  • Serve as the executive relationship lead for key healthcare clients, strategic accounts, and major pursuits.
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare executives, including the Chief Officers, Facilities Leaders, Planning, Design and Construction Directors, Capital Program Executives and clinical and operation leaders.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new healthcare opportunities that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Lead business development activities, including networking, client outreach, account planning, and pursuit strategy development.
  • Direct proposal development, interview preparation, presentations, and contract negotiations.
  • Partner with regional leadership and technical experts to develop winning client solutions.
  • Expand strategic account relationships through cross-selling opportunities and long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain a healthy healthcare opportunity pipeline and support accurate forecasting.


Healthcare Project Leadership & Technical Oversight

  • Provide executive leadership and technical oversight for healthcare projects, programs, and capital initiatives.
  • Support project teams throughout the full project lifecycle, including strategic planning, programming, design, procurement, construction, activation, occupancy, and go-live.
  • Advise clients and project teams on healthcare facility planning, operational readiness, infrastructure modernization, life safety compliance, commissioning, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure exceptional project performance related to schedule, budget, quality, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and operational continuity.
  • Partner with project leaders to proactively identify risks, resolve complex issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support healthcare master planning, capital planning, and enterprise program management initiatives.
  • Guide project teams in evaluating delivery methodologies, procurement strategies, and project execution plans.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with RLB's standards of excellence and client expectations.
  • Maintain executive visibility across major healthcare projects and programs within the region.


Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Develop, lead, and grow a high-performing healthcare practice within the assigned region.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top healthcare project management and consulting professionals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development opportunities for project managers, cost managers, schedulers, etc.
  • Encourage participation in professional organizations, continuing education, certifications, and thought leadership activities.
  • Partner with regional leadership to identify staffing and resource needs that support strategic growth objectives


Financial & Operational Performance

  • Drive the financial success of the regional healthcare practice through revenue growth, profitability, and client retention.
  • Develop and manage healthcare sector forecasts, budgets, and business plans.
  • Monitor project financial performance, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Support strategic staffing decisions, workload forecasting, and capacity planning.
  • Maintain visibility into key business performance metrics and operational indicators.
  • Collaborate with office leadership to achieve annual growth and financial goals.
  • Support contract negotiations, pricing strategies, fee development, and risk management efforts.


Thought Leadership

  • Serve as a visible and respected leader within the healthcare industry.
  • Advance RLB's healthcare brand through speaking engagements, publications, presentations, and industry participation.
  • Contribute to the development of healthcare best practices, project delivery methodologies, and client solutions.
  • Share industry insights, market intelligence, and lessons learned with clients and internal teams.
  • Champion innovation in healthcare planning, project management, digital delivery, and capital program execution.
  • Promote emerging trends related to healthcare facility design, technology, sustainability, resiliency, and care delivery models.
  • Collaborate with the National Healthcare Lead and healthcare leaders across RLB to strengthen technical expertise, market alignment, and service delivery nationwide.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Indoor office environment. May require work on site location when necessary.
  • Equipment used includes computers and standard office machines.
  • Essential physical tasks include: the ability to work on a computer and the ability to answer and speak on a telephone.
