Full Job Description
MEPPI's Switchgear Division (SWGD) is seeking an experienced and results-driven Sourcing Specialist to manage supplier relationships, develop sourcing strategies, and oversee supplier agreements that support division objectives. In this role, you will strengthen supply chain performance, optimize costs, manage supplier risk, and ensure a reliable flow of materials to support production and customer commitments.

What You'll Do

Build & Strengthen Supplier Relationships: Develop and manage vendor and supplier relationships in partnership with key SWGD stakeholders to improve overall supply management effectiveness.

Manage Supplier Contracts & Agreements: Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate, qualify, select, negotiate, and execute supplier contracts and agreements, including cost analysis, risk assessment, and technical evaluations.

Develop Strategic Sourcing Plans: Create opportunity-specific sourcing strategies, conduct supplier evaluations and risk assessments, and present recommendations to Division leadership and stakeholders.

Support Production Through Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels of production materials to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Drive Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify and track cost savings opportunities and cost overruns; facilitate resolution between Engineering and suppliers to improve overall cost performance.

Resolve Supplier Issues: Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and MEPPI for both technical and commercial concerns, ensuring timely issue resolution.

Manage Supplier Recovery Activities: Negotiate non-conforming material cost recovery, coordinate supplier chargebacks, and support resolution of quality-related issues.

Monitor Supplier Performance: Track supplier performance related to price, quality, delivery, and contract compliance; implement procurement strategies designed to reduce current and future costs.

Execute Purchasing Activities: Plan, schedule, and issue purchase orders for products, parts, services, capital expenditures, facility requirements, and internal requisitions in accordance with forecasts, customer commitments, and MEPPI's Limits of Authority policy.

Maintain Purchasing Procedures: Oversee purchasing department procedures, ensuring compliance, revision control, and alignment with Division business processes.

Provide Purchasing Leadership: Offer guidance, direction, and support to Buyers regarding purchasing-related production challenges and supplier issues.

Promote Division Excellence: Further the goals and professional image of SWGD through effective collaboration with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.

Champion Quality & Compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of MEPPI's Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies and communicate their importance throughout purchasing and sourcing activities.

What You Bring

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in purchasing and supplier contract management
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Technical & Supply Chain Expertise
  • Advanced knowledge of supply chain systems, sourcing methodologies, and procurement best practices
  • Proven negotiation experience with suppliers and service providers
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and strategic sourcing principles

Skills & Attributes
