Solutions Engineer (Radar) LVL II

Job Summary:

OWT Global is seeking a dedicated, self-driven, and experienced Solutions Engineer with operational knowledge of radars to join an OWT that partners with and assists a fast-growing company in the pre- and post-sale technical engagements of a unique compact radar. This Solutions Engineer (Radar) will work with patented technologies and powerful software across multiple industries providing technical support to the customer.

In this position, the Solutions Engineer (Radar) will execute tasks and activities in support of the customer portfolio; to include testing, validating, and integrating technology projects with a compact patented radar system and help translate operational requirements for the supported sales team and customers. This position requires a self-driven technical professional to engage in development, training, testing, evaluation, and delivery of state-of-the-art technology solutions to industry. This position is remote and includes travel up to 50% of the time.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Self-driven to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on newly developed radar systems by studying system documentation, documentation of testing, and post-demo analysis
  • Be a key member of the OWT Global team responsible for pre- and post-sales technical engagements supporting customer and partner relationships by presenting value of the radar products
  • Represent the customer as a highly valued technical SME to industry partners, potential customers, and government agencies showcasing the products by performing on-site demonstrations at external events, conferences, and customer sites
  • Troubleshoot radars and integrated hardware/software issues to include basic networking and Linux command line navigation
  • Help the sales and technical teams improve the radar products by translating user operational needs into requirements for system and sub-system technology developments, regularly collecting customer feedback, and interfacing with customer product managers and engineers, and creating detailed reports and After-Action Reports (AARs) to provide feedback to manufacturer
  • Lead installation planning and integration as well as execute deployment configuration, system tuning, technical support, and troubleshooting
  • Engage in the planning and execution of demonstrations and customer engagements to ensure the successful fielding and operations of advanced radar systems
  • Manage relationships with existing and potential customers and partners insuring a positive impression of the product
  • Support the customers growing customer base by developing and maintaining training materials, including application notes, and user manuals
  • Other related tasks required to fulfill the needs of the customer
  • CONUS or OCONUS travel may be required up to 50% on average

Basic Qualifications:

  • Able to travel and work outdoors in a multi-climate environment to support customer requirements
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Valued Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Previous experience with radar systems
  • Previous experience representing, training, or teaching technical and complex equipment
  • Comfortable working with customers in time critical situations, while maintaining a positive attitude to determine the root causes of issues while troubleshooting both hardware and software
  • Experience in coordinating efforts across teams and organizations
  • Experience working on a sales team
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and using Command Line Interface
  • Familiarity with computer programing languages such as Python or Matlab
  • Basic understanding of digital signal processing functions and application to various sensor modalities
  • Direct experience with radar signals is a plus
  • Experience conducting data plotting and analysis
  • US DOD Issued Security Clearance
