POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Solar Project Manager. Responsible for guiding solar energy projects through their entire lifecycle, from the initial concept to final completion. This position orchestrates the various stages of development, including planning, execution, and commissioning, to ensure all objectives are successfully met. Functioning as a central point of contact, the project manager coordinates between engineers, installers, clients, and vendors to maintain project cohesion. This involves managing timelines, overseeing budgets, and ensuring that all work adheres to quality and safety standards. Through effective communication and organization, they align the efforts of all parties involved in the installation process. By navigating the complexities of project execution, the Solar Project Manager plays a direct role in bringing renewable energy solutions to life.

This is a full-time, exempt position that will require periodic travel to project site's.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate/participate with the Project Director and Operations Department in the actual buyout of the project, including negotiating and issuing subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Oversee the pay request process, job cost report and total cost projection reports
  • Review and approve material orders and installation work plans
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, subcontractors and owners to represent EPC's core values
  • Work on concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
  • Input detailed bid analysis into project budgets. Prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Negotiate subcontractor agreements and material purchases. Have knowledge of standard contracting practices and the ability to understand, write and negotiate standard contract language.
  • Prepare, monitor and report monthly budget variances and forecast ultimate costs of the project(s) at all times.
  • Ensure subcontractor adherence to contract specifications. Develop, communicate and implement subcontractor performance expectations.
  • Initiate, prepare, process and review Requests for Information as required by the project.
  • Prepare, process and pursue customer change order requests.
  • Interface with Public/Private Utility Companies for the design, contract and execution of projects.
  • Interface with municipal officials regarding plan submittals, plan checks, processing and the acquisition of all required permits for the project.
  • Hold weekly construction meetings with clients by phone or in person.
  • Manage the approval of material submittals for the project. Assemble, collate and process material submissions to project consultants as well as internal departments withinCompany. Follow submittal protocol. Maintain project documentation throughout the course of the project. Prepare project completion materials for Company and customers.
  • Ensure safety procedures and safety meetings occur and are documented.
  • Oversee project commissioning and final reporting.


Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience with solar/energy related projects or bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Experienced dealing with owner contracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work.
  • Experience leading successful project team, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to find creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • OSHA 30 certificate.
