Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to lead Verification/Validation for the overall SW platform and lead test execution within a development team. This role drives the quality and reliability of our Digital Energy software platform but also assist in leading manual test. The candidate will be responsible for driving test strategy and test plan, execution, acceptance, and communication across a large software platform within the Digital Power portfolio. The software platform is a key part of the system strategy visualizing critical information from the power devices including advanced electrical metering and protection. The candidate will be tasked to lead testing strategies, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety. You will be driving test execution within a team of developers focused on a specific portion of platform development..
Duties and responsibilities- Develop and implement detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for edge software applications.
- Execute manual and automated tests to identify software defects and ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and design effective testing strategies.
- Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not compromised by new changes.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on software quality and testability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends to continuously improve testing processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in software testing.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related engineering or technical field..Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on edge computing or related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with performance testing and tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
- Experience with Energy Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and/or Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Experience with Schneider Electric solutions such as EcoStruxure Power Operation (EPO), Power Monitoring Expert (PME), and EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO).
- Experience testing industrial, energy management, or critical power applications.
- Familiarity with automation testing frameworks and test management tools.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA, or MQTT.
