As a
Software/Systems Engineer III, you will contribute to R&D activities across our product portfolio, using your expertise in software engineering, systems engineering, and cybersecurity to deliver secure, high-performance healthcare solutions.
You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, from early concept to commercial release, ensuring the utmost quality for our patients within a regulated medical device environment.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include: - Architecture, development, and deployment of software/system solutions for BSC Urology's Class-II/Class-III medical devices
- Provide leadership in implementing efficient, maintainable software/system development processes, tools, and workflows
- Collaboration with high-performing software/system teams, fostering an engineering culture that prioritizes individual growth and shared accountability
Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 3+ years of software/systems development experience working on medical devices or similarly regulated safety-critical systems (i.e. aerospace, automotive)
- Experience with safety-critical development lifecycle, including architecture/requirements definition, design implementation/testing, release documentation, and post-market support
- Experience working with project management/SMEs to plan work-breakdown structures and predictably execute functional milestones
- Familiarity with use of AI tools for productivity (i.e. M365 Copilot, ChatGPT) and/or software development (i.e. Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot)
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with medical device industry standards (i.e. IEC 62304, ISO 14971)
- Familiarity with medical device risk assessment methodologies and cybersecurity activities (i.e. DFMEA, Hazard Analysis, threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing)
- Experience with source control, CI/CD, and requirements management tools (i.e. Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins, Cockpit)
- 3+ years of software development experience, with proficiency in C++11 or newer
- Experience with fundamentals of Linux-based OS architectures (i.e. concurrency, memory management, resource utilization)
