THE WORK

Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Configuration Analyst to join our team as an Integration, installation and test SME for Virtual Advisory Threat Simulator (VATS) software and Grid at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center - Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis Air Force Base (AFB), NV.

The successful candidate will have a strong IT background with very niche skills, specifically in Virtual Advisory Threat Simulator (VATS) software development, and a good understanding of aircraft Operational Flight Program (OFP) systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a subject matter expert for VATS software integration, providing technical guidance and support operational requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize software requirements, ensuring that the VATS software meets the needs of end-users.
• Participate in software testing and validation, ensuring that the VATS software meets the required standards and specifications.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users, ensuring that they are proficient in the use of the VATS software.

Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. Develops software configuration standards and policies for company-wide use. Trains software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. Maintains the Software Configuration Management System including collection or distribution of code documentation, problem report and change request processing, software build documents, and delivery of software products to operational environments. Implements long term organizational objectives for software process improvement (e.g., SEI CMM), compliance with ISO 9000 standards, and software code reuse.

Basic Qualifications
• A current active Top Secret Level Clearance with an investigation completed within the last 5 years is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI and relevant SAP/SAR Clearance.
• Security + Certification.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field OR High School Diploma OR equivalent experience/combined education.
• Strong IT background with experience in software development, specifically in software development.
• Very niche skills in software development, including: Experience with aircraft OFP systems, Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies, familiarity with software testing and validation procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex software issues and identify creative solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and patterns.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Fundamental understanding of military surface to air missile systems.
• Understanding of Air Force terminology to implement/emulate realistic red forces for test and training.
• Ability to perform tasks that require prolonged computer use, occasional lifting and movement of equipment, and fine motor skills with hand-eye coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Ability to think critically and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.

Desired Skills
• Previous or active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Experience with data visualization tools and technologies.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems.
• Background in aircraft OFP systems, including: Experience with OFP design and development; Knowledge of OFP testing and validation procedures; Familiarity with aircraft OFP systems and software.
• Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and platforms.
• Strong understanding of data security and integrity principles, with experience in implementing data protection measures
• Experience with Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) and familiarity with its software components.
• Experience with simulation systems and mission execution.
• Familiarity with IT principles and concepts.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
