Description:The Software Integration Engineer shall be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) component of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE). The CCE provides secure, multi-tenant, high-performance, and highly available Kubernetes clusters operating within a Linux-based infrastructure. Tasking shall ensure platform reliability, scalability, security compliance, and optimal cluster performance in support of mission and application requirements.
- Provide expertise in integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
Position Required Skills:- Certifications: Security+
- Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software.
- Generate documentation for the full software stack.
- Update software for sustainment support.
- Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.
- Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.
- Provide software product ownership for HPC tools.
- Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms.
- Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools
- Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman
- Demonstrated experience administrating and monitoring Kubernetes clusters
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Kubernetes workloads (ingress, performance, networking, storage, etc.)
- Experience with IaC principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible
- Experience writing, deploying, and maintaining Helm Charts
- Experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus /Grafana
- Experience using Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration
Position Desired Skills:- Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Experience working in a DevOps environment that uses Agile principles and methodologies
- Experience with or willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.)
- CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator)
SIE3 Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
The individual shall have five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience.
An industry recognized professional certification, as defined in the TTOs, may substitute as one (1) year experience.
A Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years' experience.
Salary Range: $201k-$246k (Annually)
The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
