Start dates are determined after funding confirmation. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager 2 6 SW Lead role. This position will be located on site in San Diego, CA or Grand Sky, ND. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 10-20 individuals to complete the full software development and test life cycle in an Agile software development environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with Software Development, Systems Engineering, Test Automation, DevSecOps and Systems Test organizations, to ensure the team is meeting the mission engineering objectives of the contract. The successful candidate will implement and utilize several Agile development techniques and metrics to manage the team9s progress and the work quality throughout the product life cycle. This position is a dual-hatted Technical and Functional Lead position that reports to the Enterprise SW IPT Lead on the program side and the Software Department Manager on the functional side. Basic Qualifications: 3 Must have a Bachelor9s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional experience that includes a background in software development, OR a Master9s degree AND 7 years of related professional experience that includes a background in software development. 3 Prior leadership experience using agile development, including participating as Product Owner, SCRUM Master, and/or team member in an Agile development environment. 3 Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). 3 Experience with integrating software used for one of the following real-time applications: flight critical software, Safety critical software, medical software, or mission critical software 3 Experience with Agile software development, object-oriented architecture and programming, software integration and testing. 3 At least 4 years of recent relevant experience with at least two of the following programming or scripting languages: Java, C, C++, and Python. 3 Experience with one of the following real time operating systems: Wind River VxWorks, Green Hills Integrity, or Realtime Linux 3 Familiarity with most of the data interfaces: 1553, RS-232 Serial, Discrete & Analog I/O, Ethernet/IP, or Fiber Channel 3 Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company. Preferred Qualifications: 3 An advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM disciplines. 3 Advanced technical management degree. 3 Prior experience in engineering functional management is a plus. 3 Proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills. 3 Previous experience leading a team of 5-12 employees with a record of on-time performance 3 Previous experience in developing proposal inputs (task descriptions and basis of estimate) 3 Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities. 3 Prior experience with cost account management and task/resource planning. 3 Understands assembly emitted by C/C++ compilers for typical code constructs 3 Has developed code in assembly to support low level drivers, BSPs, or critical performance implementations 3 Strong understanding of embedded software architectures and requirements that drive them 3 Strong understanding of hardware interfaces in the software architecture and their impacts 3 Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management. 3 Experience with Java microservices, Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications, threading, intermediate object-oriented programming, design patterns, Data Distribution Service (DDS) messaging, web technologies, Unified Modeling Language (UML), database essentials and SQL/NoSQL. 3 Prior experience using Atlassian Tool Suite, JIRA, SonarQube. #Blue Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $241,700.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate9s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
