Full Job Description
Job Description Summary:

As a Software Engineering Group Manager, you will lead multiple engineers across full stack, front end, and back-end disciplines to deliver customer-facing and internal products in a product operating model. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Architecture to shape strategy, build durable platforms, and deliver measurable outcomes.

This role is for leaders who can grow strong teams, raise engineering standards, and guide technical direction - while staying close enough to the work to make sound architectural and delivery decisions.

What You Will Work On

At Coca-Cola, engineers have the opportunity to build products at meaningful scale-shaping the digital experiences, platforms, and intelligent systems that power how we serve customers, enable field teams and partners, support sales, and drive transaction growth across one of the world's most recognized brands. Depending on the team, you could work on connected service tools that improve resolution speed and reliability, data and API platforms that unlock growth and decisioning, customer and operational experiences that reduce friction across workflows, or sales products that equip teams with better visibility, insights, and execution capabilities. This is a chance to join at a pivotal moment: helping define modern engineering practices, influence product direction, and build high-impact solutions in empowered, cross-functional teams where your work directly connects to business performance and customer outcomes

How We Work

You'll be part of a dedicated, cross-functional team (Product, Design, Engineering) that is:

  • Empowered to solve problems, not just build features

  • Accountable for outcomes, not output

  • Collaborative by default, from discovery through delivery

  • Continuously learning, using data and customer insight to improve

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach a group of full stack, front end, and back-end engineers through technical leadership and professional development

  • Play a key role in building out your Software Engineering Team;

  • Bring a strong technical perspective to help the team identify what is feasible, what is valuable, and what is worth building

  • Challenge assumptions and propose alternative solutions that are simpler, faster, or more impactful

  • Partner with Product Management and Design to frame problems, define outcomes, and translate strategy into an executable roadmap

  • Align cross-team dependencies and coordinate delivery across multiple services and applications

  • Communicate status, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders; make decisions that optimize for customer and business impact

  • Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, scalability, maintainability, and cost

  • Ensure alignment with broader platform and enterprise architecture where appropriate

  • Guide architecture and technical direction across front end, back end, and platform capabilities; ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable

  • Partner with Data Engineering and Data Analytics to enable reliable data products, feature pipelines, and ML-powered experiences where they create measurable value

  • Establish engineering standards for APIs, UI architecture, data contracts, and eventing; ensure alignment with enterprise and platform architecture

  • Own technical risk management (security, privacy, resiliency, cost); surface tradeoffs and investment needs early

  • Ensure strong engineering practices, including testing, observability, and CI/CD

  • Maintain a high bar for code quality and system design through reviews and hands-on contribution

  • Drive continuous improvement of the product through iteration, feedback, and learning

  • Establish reliability targets (SLOs/SLAs where applicable) and drive continuous improvement in performance, availability, and cost efficiency

  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term product and technical health, including planned reduction of technical debt

  • Ensure the team is focused on delivering meaningful impact, not just completing work

  • Create clarity on ownership boundaries, decision rights, and interfaces between teams to enable autonomy with alignment

Contribute to a Strong Engineering Culture

  • People leadership: Proven experience managing and growing software engineers across levels and specialties in collaboration with Product, Design and Data leadership

  • Full stack fluency: Comfort guiding modern front end and back-end architectures, APIs, and integration patterns

  • Product operating model mindset: Outcome-oriented, customer-centered, and skilled at partnering with Product and Design

  • Data & ML experience: Experience delivering data engineering and machine-learning-enabled solutions in production

  • Technical judgment: Makes smart tradeoffs, avoids over-engineering, and manages risk proactively

  • Product mindset: Cares about users, outcomes, and why things are built

  • Technical judgment: Makes smart tradeoffs, avoids over-engineering

  • Ownership & leadership: Takes initiative and influences decisions

  • Collaboration: Works effectively with product managers and designers

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including building and shipping production-grade applications

  • 3+ years of people management experience leading software engineers (ideally across full stack, front end, and back end)

  • Experience setting technical direction across services, web/mobile UIs, and cloud platforms; comfortable reviewing architecture and design

  • Experience partnering with Product and Design in a product operating model (continuous discovery and delivery; outcome-based roadmaps)

  • Working knowledge of data engineering and ML delivery patterns (pipelines, feature stores/serving, model lifecycle, monitoring)

  • Experience building and shipping production-grade applications

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (frontend and backend)

  • Experience working with APIs, distributed systems, and cloud environments

  • Experience leading multiple teams or a larger engineering group with shared services and cross-team dependencies

  • Experience building internal platforms or reusable components that accelerate delivery across product teams

  • Experience with modern cloud and data stacks (e.g., container platforms, event streaming, data warehouses/lakehouses)

  • Experience operationalizing ML (MLOps, model monitoring, responsible AI practices, experimentation)

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across technology, product, and business partners

  • Experience contributing to product discovery or solution design, not just delivery

  • Track record of technical leadership within a team (formal or informal)

  • Experience building customer-facing products

  • Familiarity with modern engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, observability)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Equivalent practical experience is equally valued

Who Thrives Here

Engineers who:

  • Are curious about customers and how products create value

  • Enjoy collaborating and debating ideas across disciplines

  • Take pride in both what they build and why it matters

Who This Role Is Not For

This role may not be the right fit if you:

  • Prefer working from detailed requirements with limited ambiguity

  • Want to focus primarily on coding without engaging in product decisions

  • Are most comfortable in highly structured, delivery-driven environments
