Full Job Description
Meta's Central Growth organization is seeking a distinguished Software Engineer to drive technical strategy and engineering excellence across our growth-focused product systems that serve billions of users globally. Central Growth is responsible for helping people discover value across Meta's family of apps, driving user acquisition, engagement, and retention through innovative growth systems and experiences. In this role, you will operate at the intersection of deep technical expertise and organizational leadership, shaping the architecture and long-term direction of critical growth infrastructure. You will identify transformative opportunities, define multi-year technical visions, and lead cross-functional efforts that elevate engineering capabilities across Central Growth. This is a role for engineers who see problems others miss, build systems that stand the test of time, and make the teams and technology around them fundamentally better.

Responsibilities

Define and drive the multi-year technical vision and architecture for large-scale product systems, ensuring designs are reliable, extensible, and capable of evolving with business needs
• Identify and solve the most complex, cross-cutting engineering problems across multiple systems and abstraction layers, including issues that span organizational boundaries
• Establish extensible technical foundations, coding standards, and architectural patterns that improve consistency and delivery velocity across engineering organizations
• Lead cross-functional execution of org-wide technical initiatives, aligning stakeholders, managing dependencies, and driving outcomes against defined milestones and metrics
• Develop and operationalize engineering excellence programs including reliability standards, performance guardrails, and quality frameworks adopted across teams
• Deeply understand privacy, security, and integrity vulnerabilities relevant to product systems and build robust technical safeguards in partnership with compliance and policy teams
• Mentor engineers across the organization by providing candid feedback, customized coaching, and technical guidance on the most challenging system and feature design problems
• Communicate complex technical strategies and trade-offs clearly to audiences ranging from individual contributors to executive leadership, producing artifacts used as long-term references
• Identify systemic issues and recurring failure patterns across the organization, developing invariants and architectural improvements that prevent entire classes of problems
• Recruit and develop engineers with skills critical to the team's success, role-modeling technical and cultural standards that strengthen the broader engineering community

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 12+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling large-scale software systems serving high-traffic, production environments
• 12+ years of programming experience with demonstrated ability to solve complex, cross-system technical problems through direct implementation
• Experience leading multi-year technical roadmaps and cross-organizational engineering initiatives from vision through execution
• Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams and functions through written proposals, architectural reviews, and stakeholder alignment
• Experience mentoring engineers across an organization and driving engineering culture improvements through programs, standards, and direct coaching

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience partnering with legal, policy, or compliance teams to design technical solutions that address privacy, security, or integrity requirements at scale
• Track record of identifying and delivering step-change improvements to product systems through architectural rethinking or ground-up rebuilds
• Experience defining and operationalizing reliability, performance, or quality frameworks adopted at an organizational or company-wide scale
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI-assisted development practices and agent-based workflows to drive measurable engineering productivity improvements
