DescriptionPosition OverviewCyber B.A.T. is seeking a
SeniorSoftware Engineer to support mission-critical programs by developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems that enable our government customers' most important missions. This role involves designing and implementing software solutions for processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, real-time systems, business management information systems, and applications that process extremely large datasets.
What You'll Do- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements
- Design and implement software solutions for processing-intensive analytics, real-time systems, and large-scale data processing applications
- Develop and integrate novel algorithms and software capabilities supporting mission objectives
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of an agile software development team
- Review, test, and validate software components to ensure compliance with design requirements and quality standards
- Document software testing activities and communicate results to project stakeholders
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve software defects and problem reports
- Participate in software design activities, including hardware/software trade-off analyses
- Evaluate opportunities for software reuse and integration of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) solutions
- Perform requirements analysis and translate system-level requirements into software component designs
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle using appropriate software engineering methodologies
- Collaborate with engineers, mission partners, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications- Active TS/SCI Clearance with a current Maryland Polygraph
- Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems
- Experience with software development methodologies appropriate to the development environment
- Experience reviewing, testing, and validating software components against design requirements
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving software defects and technical issues
- Experience performing software requirements analysis and component-level design
- Understanding of hardware/software integration and trade-off analysis
- Experience evaluating and integrating COTS and GOTS software solutions where appropriate
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary technical teams
- A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience OR
- A High School Diploma or GED plus ten (10) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area). OR
- A Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience OR
- A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
- Note 1 - Examples of Qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.
- Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics
