Full Job Description
The selected candidate will support the Space Data Networking Experimentation (SDNX) risk reduction for the fielding of a future Hybrid Space Network (HSN) by prototyping an advanced hardware network appliance and a software lifecycle network management system for use with software defined networking technology. LM shall develop and prototype key components of the HSN architecture and shall be responsible for providing the core network management system, our Horizon enterprise software, and SpaceMesh Orchestrator while leveraging our cybersecurity/RMF capabilities. The primary SDNX goals for LM are to prototype and deliver an open, standards-based framework, ensuring full interoperability with Government-provided third-party components, and to demonstrate integrated HSN operations. In this role as Scrum Master, the candidate will have proven ability to lead cross functional teams and influence without direct authority. Prior experience as a Systems or Software engineer with domain knowledge of ground systems, networks, and integration & test of enterprise software products is required. Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice Basic Qualifications Prior experience with satellite ground systems design, development, integration, and test Experienced in software development using programming and scripting languages such as C++, Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, etc. Experience working in an Agile development environment, including tools such as Jira and Confluence Experience in Project Management and/or leadership of systems or software teams 2-3 years of professional experience in a planning/scheduling or related capacity Experience using a program planning tool (e.g. Microsoft Project, Open Plan Professional, or a comparable program/project planning tool) No clearance required prior to start. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. Desired Skills Demonstrated ability to team across organizational boundaries and geographical locations to collaborate with and influence others Experience in a fast-paced environment in technical teams across virtual environments. Excellent verbal & written communication skills Strong knowledge of modern technology frameworks, IP networking, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, DevOps, and data architecture Experience in application containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.) in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure/Openstack/Openshift) Experience with enterprise software products including Horizon, HADES and SpaceMesh Orchestrator Experience with space data networking SAFe Agile Scrum Master, Product Owner or Product Manager Certified Ability to work directly with Government customers and FFRDC stakeholders Support occasional business travel (up to 25%) Ability to obtain a Clearance Pay Information GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role. - Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $122600.00 - $227600.00 - Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc. - Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): :$110300.00 - $204900.00 - Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc. - Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): :$98100.00 - $182100.00 - Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc. - Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): :$88300.00 - $163900.00 - Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Ocala, FL; Lufkin, TX; etc. The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
