Long DescriptionThis is an opportunity to work on the Simulation and Systems Labs (SSL) Systems Engineering team. SSLT is a highly innovative team responsible for developing, testing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems utilized for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery.
What You Will Be DoingAs a Software Engineer on our team, you will work on multiple Air Mobility and Maritime Missions (AMMM) projects, designing and developing software models in a simulation environment.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Utilizing standard engineering practices to develop models for complex software systems and applications
• Collaborating within a cross-functional team, including systems engineering, operations engineering, hardware engineering, and project leadership to facilitate in technical discussions and estimates
• Deriving and applying knowledge of various avionics, navigation, and communication Interface Control Documents
• Developing modern Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to integrate into simulation environments, providing an intuitive and user-friendly experience for operators and users
• Developing innovative solutions to integrate components that have not been previously used together, often requiring outside-the-box thinking

Standard Job DescriptionPlans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in STEM/technical discipline
- Simulation and model software development experience
- Experience developing software in Ada, C++, and/or Python
Desired Skills- Familiarity with digital bus architectures
- Experience developing software in Java

Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $98100.00 - $182100.00
