We are seeking a versatile, inventive Level 2 Software Engineer to design, maintain, and enhance complex, mission-critical software systems. In this high-impact role, you will tackle processing-intensive analytics, drive novel algorithm development, and manipulate extremely large datasets across cloud, real-time, and event-driven architectures. Whether working independently, guiding small development teams, or collaborating with systems engineers, you will touch every phase of the lifecycle-translating user requirements into performant code, integrating modern COTS/GOTS/OSS tools, containerizing applications, and ensuring seamless deployments on Unix platforms.

The annual base salary range for this role is $178,000-$210,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.

Core Languages & Tooling: Software development experience using languages such as Java (J2EE/Eclipse), Python, C++, C, Ruby, Perl, or JavaScript, combined with version control using Git.

Agile & CI/CD Practices: Practical experience working within Agile processes, using collaboration tools (e.g., Atlassian Jira/Confluence), and employing continuous integration workflows.

Data Processing & Database Systems: Experience designing and developing with both relational and non-relational databases, including event-driven/data-driven analytics.

Architecture & Trade-Off Analysis: Ability to evaluate hardware/software trade-offs and synthesize system-level requirements down to individual software components, incorporating OSS, COTS, and GOTS components.

Configuration & Web Services: Working knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) tools and Web Services implementation.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, Finance/Economics, or a related discipline, PLUS 5+ years of specialized data analytics or financial intelligence experience OR Master's Degree in a related field, PLUS 3+ years of specialized analytical experience OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 7+ years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience in lieu of a degree.

Desired Skills

Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration/messaging frameworks such as Spring, Kafka, or queue management systems.

Cloud Solutions: Experience developing, deploying, and sustaining cloud-based solutions and technologies.

Technical Leadership: Experience serving as a team lead, conducting quality control on team products, and mentoring peer engineers within Agile frameworks.
