Standard Job DescriptionPlans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Your Impact You will support the development and maintenance of simulation software for aircraft systems. Responsibilities include:
- Development of simulations to support software development
- Full software lifecycle development spanning across many avionic services, ground station development and mission system software
- Supporting ground station development for manned and unmanned systems
- Participating in unit testing, integration testing, and debug activities
- Collaborating with team members to develop requirements for rapid prototypes
- Documenting simulation development processes and results
- Applying agile software development processes
- Growing knowledge of avionics systems and simulation development practices
This position is ideal for a motivated engineer starting their career who wants to build foundational skills in simulations and embedded software development while contributing to meaningful aircraft programs.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college in a relevant field of study (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
- Strong C and/or C++ fundamentals
- Experience with Linux or RTOS (real-time operating systems) and associated development toolchains
- Understanding of Agile processes and software development methodologies
- Network Programming fundamentals
- Experience with the software development process in a team environment
-Travel up to 10% may be required for this position

- Experience with Modeling and Simulation development
- Experience with AFSIM development/scripting
- Experience with LUA scripting
- Experience with Command Control Interface implementation
- Experience with UCI (User-Command Interface) implementation
- Experience using Agile development tools and methodologies (Git, JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
- Understanding of physics modeling
- Understanding of avionics systems
- Ability to work in a strong team environment, with emphasis on collaboration and communication
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00
